Can someone explain the history? Why did these suck so badly?
They're just big action figures right?
I'm tempted because these are clearly done in the animated style.
When this line was first conceived, the animated The Clone Wars cartoon wasn't around. Many of us seeing our childhood heroes with a goofy animated sculpt were appalled and asked ourselves things like "Luke, What the hell have they done to you?" Having this be our first exposure to Force Battlers many of us will never see them in a positive light.
With the animated series out there, Hasbro has now opted to imitate that look with this line and re-introduce it. They're likely thinking these new aesthetics might make it appealing. For some of us the horror of what came before is just too close, thus they suck. For newcomers, yeah, maybe they ain't so bad.
