I use acrylic paint. sometimes I take a figure or two with me to the arts and crafts store to make sure the paint matches up correctly.

I forgot to add I also give one coat of matte clear coat after I'm finished. it comes in a spray can. there are flat or matte clear coat paints too, but I use the spray can. it's fast and easy. just do it outside because the fumes are toxic!!!

Enjoy! Notice the Clone Commander has the proper elbow armor ( from Obi Wan figure) and the trooper has a "movie" style helmet.
