I checked our route for next week:
We fly in to
Denver on Monday.
The
Georgetown loop is our first stop. I had to chuckle when my brother made me aware of the highway next to it, when we looked at the screen together.
The loop looks very nice. From Georgetown we go to
Durango where we take the train to
Silverton and back.
Chama in Colorado is our next stop from where we go to Antonito.
Didn't know there's Chama in New Mexico, too!
Last trip by train will be the
Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad.
A day later we head back to Denver and back to Germany.
The trip will take us 855 miles on the road alone. It's gonna be fun!
What's even nicer than the historic trains is the landscape along their route. It looks amazing on google pictures already! I can already smell the scent of the wooden wagons.
