Hey guys, how do you take apart arms and legs at the elbow and knees? Is it like shoulders and whole legs, just drop into boiling water and pull?

Yeah thats one method just be carefull and dont hurt yourself. I just use a 60 to 67 watt light bulb in one of those bendi lamps and heat up the fig for a few mins. then pull it apart.

Kreepers, do you find that easier than the boiling water?
Remus, if it melts, maybe use it in a Wicked or Wizard of Oz diorama.

A heat gun or hair dryer works fantastic. Just got done using my heat gun on a fig a few minutes ago.

The lamp wont melt it unless you leave it there for to long just like the boil method keep an eye on it dont leave it unattened Ive used that method on all my joe and cw mix up customs and only had one casualty( I forgot an went out to dinner) but was still able to salvage like 90% of the parts.

I use steam from esterilizer for milk bottles for babies, it has a small hole where the steam comes out, that's easier and very secure.

I use the good old fashioned "Boil & Pop" method.
Stick the figure in boiling water until the plastic has softened & then pop out the limbs.
Pop the figure into freezing water to harden it again.
Simples.

You guys are crazy doing this with a lamp, never heard of that one. For lower arms and lower legs I use a heat gun. The hair dryer would do the same thing just takes a few more seconds of heat. For shoulders, torsos and hips I use boiling water in the microwave. I also use a pickle dispenser I found at the flea market to boil water in the microwave. It has a lift up strainer that bring the figure up out of the hot water. Be on the look out for one...
