I picked up this Llats Ward from ws_toys on ebay for $3.99 plus 5 shipping. He doesn't come with anything but I think it is still worth it. You can just paint up a helmet from CloneHead and give him some your extra weapons.

Awesome purchase price. Good idea to get a helmet from Clint too!

Yeah, I've got that one in my watch-list.  Brendan has already requested a few, too.

I'm a terrible customizer when it comes to painting the resin parts; it'd be worth it, though, I'd say that.  He's on my Mando Wanted List, as a high priority...

I can't think of a more perfect base for a custom mando.
Nice score price.

I've been on a bit of a lucky streak.  Plus I had a nice conversation with a TRU explaining a little bit of distro, too...

Where I live in NJ, it's swarmed with scalpers.   In my area there's about 3-5 Wal Marts, 8+ Targets, Kmarts, TRU, Sears... and every single one hasn't had a wave of TVC figures past Wave 2 since October of last year.  Over the last two months it's gotten a little better, but most of my scores have been online.

The problem in my area definitely isn't new figures, it's scalpers and their deals with WM, Target and TRU.  The stores order case upon case but it's the same 2 or three guys buying them all and flipping them on Ebay, the local comic stores, and the two flea markets in the area.  I've stopped going to the stores closest to me because the local flea market toy dealer pays off the employees to save him every single new figure.  His average price per figure at the flea market is $20 and up!

I managed to pick up a nice set of new figures at the Toys R Us in Times Square in New York City.   This is really the only store you can get *anything* besides Sandtroopers, Stormtroopers, yellow clones, and the occasional Rebel Commando at for a 20+ mile radius.

I managed to score Ackbar, Bom, AND Fordo all in one go.  There were a lot of Bespin Hans too there, but I'm waiting on one i got last week from ebay.

I also got to chat with a kid restocking the SW isle that morning.   He collects too and says the stores are ordering a lot heavier on TVC he last few months, that their store alone gets several cases each week, and that if you don't see much this summer, your local store is getting scalped...

I received today my Cyborg Darth Maul Premium Format from Sideshow!  He is MASSIVE, and looks sweet as HELL!  I hope to get some pics taken of him tomorrow.

Per my wife, former WalMart customer-service manager, it is against store policy and is in fact prosecutable as THEFT for employees to hold back merchandise for a specific buyer.  This happened at one of her stores in Electronics and the employees involved went to JAIL because of it.  And all they were doing was cutting a deal with a customer to NOT put the stuff out on the shelves when they were supposed to, but holding the items in the back and calling the customer, who then came in and bought up the items at regular price - giving the employees a pay-off in the process.  Those f****rs lost their jobs AND went to jail.

She says call the regional offices and talk to either the District Manager or District Asset Protection folks.  Of course, if they blow you off, call Corporate.  You can get the numbers you need from the Service Desk or typically hanging on the wall in the "Site-To-Store" area.

Do this for EVERY store involved.  If they are all in the same region, it will highlight an endemic problem with their distribution system - and they may not all be in the same region.  Plus, wifey says, they will start an investigation on your allegations - no proof required.

I suspect other big-chain stores are similar, so try that with them as well.
