Looking really good Clint! You are a mad man with your black line details. I started a figure like that and have never gone back to it. As you said the end result is spectacular so it will be well worth it. Not to mention that is your signature style! Love the color combo you are using it looks cool all ready! As for the visor, it will look cool the typical blue but I see this guy with either neon green or my prefered choice would be the gold sheet you have used before. That would be freaking awesome combined with your colors for his armor. My 2 cents...

Thanks guys. LE, I had thought about the neon green and the gold sheet. You know, I have the chrome metal foil also, like I used on Veers' goggles.

I like it, I love it, and I want some more of it! Ha Ha...ahum, ok, well my 2 cents goes for the chrome visor. Can you get those metal sheets at craft stores?

Thanks guys. CS, I get a product called bare metal foil at my hobby shop. it is a thin adhisive backed foil that car modelers use for chrome trim on their model cars rather than paint. I have seen a similar Testors brand product at hobby lobby.

Clint, this is a real Clone Commando! Very nice work as always-and thanks again for sending the Barc Trooper helmet. I wouldn't have a Clone Assassine without you and Christoph...

Have a nice day and see you, soon!

Here you can see a slight updated paint shot of the backpack. In shots 2 and 3 I am showing the start of those detail lines in the armor cracks again. Here is the brush I use to put paint into those cracks. I come behind later with the other colors to touch up where i get out of the cracks. in shot 4, i am starting the daunting work on his face so I can get the most challenging part of this figure's painting process out of the way. I will start with the whites of his eyes using a testors flat white acrylic paint.

shot 1 is a better shot of the whites of his eyes
shots 2 shows me applying some of the model master flesh tone of the face
in shot 3, I am adding an outline around his eyes using the same brown that I used on his undercoverings. This gives the eyeball more definition and kind of simulates the dark around the eyes that a persons eyelashes would cause.
shot 4 is a different shot of the same progress. I darkened some of the flesh tone slightly with the brown and used it to color the recessed "shadow areas of his face where the nose hits the face, under his eyes, and under his cheekbones.

"he kind of looks like a zombie at this point." Using that flesh tone, i thinned his eyelash lines as much as possible while still leaving them. I also used some of the brown to detail the recessed part of his mouth and his nostril holes.

I used a floquil flat black which looks more like a dark grey to paint the hair poking out from under his head cover, his eyebrows, and his pupils. The hard part is usually getting his pupils to look like they line up right but I was lucky and got it on the first try. I did do the right eyebrow about 3 times to get it to look more like the left one.

I also painted a thin detail line just past the border of where his head wrap meets his face and touched it up a few times to make it thin and uniform.

Whew! That was a bit tedious but now it is done and I can move back to painting up the rest of his body and then I will move on to accessories.
