Bring it on trooper felks.

Got a parcel in the mail the other day from Tamer that contained the snow camo atat driver that I had made for him a year or two ago needing repair work. Shawn is a bit rough when he plays with is customs, I guess, and had knocked off the gas mask cannister that I had glued to the back of this driver's waist. "Just kidding, Shawn. I'm sure it came off when you were cradling it LOL" I had only glued this part into place and needed to get it back on in a more stable fashion. Naturally, I grabbed the trusty pin vise and drilled holes into the side of the part that faced the back and into the back of the atat driver body. Using fine gauge craft wire, I cut a length to serve as a pin, glued it into the new hole in the part, trimmed it too length, and glued it into the hole in the back of the driver. A little touch up paint and I was done. That was a quick fix.

Now let me tell you that my heart soared when I opened that package and dug that driver out. Throughout the years, this figure had always been in the top 10 of all of the figures that I had ever done and unlike some of the older stuff, the paint apps and quality of work on this one still holds up somewhat to the work that I do now. Upon close inspection, there are a few paint apps that I am more picky about now but he still holds a warm place in my heart.  Yep, I was proud of this one and had produced another figure with the same sort of paint scheme that was to go with this one. The snow camo veers was meant to go with this figure but since I made that one after I shipped this driver to Tamer, they had never been together in one setting. I was afraid that the Saga1 Veers was going to be taller than the Saga2 ATAT driver but I had not suspected how much as can bee seen in these shots. The latest RC and the shadow camo arc arf figure were on my hobby table as well so naturally they made it into some shots.
The latest visor atat/snowtrooper ala spud is there as well although not any further along than the last time I posted a pic of him. At least he is as tall as Veers is. I wonder how tall the new legacy atat driver is compared to the old saga one? I may have to look at that.

Ah, my baby is whole again!

Boy, he does rock though I don't care how short he is. I think he looks fine next to that Veers. Boy that Veers rocks too guy. I still say this driver is among to top customs you have done. I hope he remembers his way home!

You are on a front page rampage today, my friend. As much as I would like for that driver to forget his way home, I will send him back to you today with the Veers to keep him company as soon as I find a pistol for Veers.

thanks, Spry, I had to say goodbye to those two today as they got shipped off to Tamer's house. "sniff"

I actually got a little work done today on some figures. First, I did a little paintwork on the atat gunner and got most of the base color on. You can see the untrimmed kama in the foreground of that first shot.

And, I started working on a figure to wear that snow ops rex/arf helmet resin mix that I had thrown together yesterday. I started off with the headless rex body that had donated the head for the master part. I trimmed what was left of the swing-peg that the head was originally attached to and then drilled a hole into the top of the peg for a piece of craft wire to be glued into. I then chose a resin stone neck nub and head and went to trimming and shaping the bottom of the nub so it would fit tight to the body and be at a height that looked good both with the helmet on and off. The bottom of the nub had to have an arc cut into it to make it fit on his shoulders without leaving a gap. I drilled a receiving hole in the bottom of the nub to accept that mounting wire as well. After I mount the neck nub, I will have some hole filling to do where the traveling notch for the swing-peg is leading down into the clone's chest. Now I have considered using a pauldron with this guy and have tried a sandtrooper, a regular cw rex, and this modified to fit resin cw arc pauldron but am not for sure if I want to use it or not. What do you guys think? My plan is to repaint at least part of the body with different marking colors and lighten up the undercoverings to make this still a snow ops clone but possibly an arf arc, if not just a snow ops arc trooper. My sudden rush on this figure is that I want it to possibly drive the vehicle that I want to enter in the current mini-rig contest.
