well our other dog is named Wookie! lol.  Dawn wanted to give this one a not so blatantly obvious name based in star wars that only fan's would apreciate.... so yeah, jaina as in solo.

well... on a different note Dawn is PO'ed at me.  The big black rat snake has escaped his cage and is loose SOMEWHERE in our house.  She is convinced that the last time it got out it slithered over her in her sleep and tried to wake me up and get it... I remember rolling over and telling her to "go back to sleep your dreaming" as she has a tendancy to sleep talk.  BUT... now she is freaked out about the snake being loose and not being able to find it.

it always turns up eventually... this isn't the first time we've had one get loose.  Last time the black rat snake got loose it wound up on top of the kitchen sink just hanging out.  The last time my milk snake got out the kids found it in the silverware drawer.  It was quite funny because no one even new he was loose... my youngest opened the drawer to get a fork out and screamed "Theres a snake in the drawer!!" he then jumped back and took a second look and relatively calmly said "Oh, Nevermind it's just jack!" like it was expected to find a snake in the drawer! lol

so.... wish me luck that I run across this snake sometime soon.  With my back out of whack I don't feel like moving everything around to find him.

this week has been a duzy that's for shure.

Dawn called me from the house with a great pet related story today...  she went and picked up crickets for the pets today.  now dawn is terified of crickets, she can dump them out of the container but if they even LOOK like they are even close to jumping she'll freak....  SO she told me that she got them in a paper sack cuz she forgot the container and she got home and decided she'd go ahead and feed the animals.  She said she got them in the frog cage fine as she just had to dump them in the top.  She gave some to our baby beardie and she got them in fine.  When she got to our gekko cage all hell broke loose.  The gecko's cage opens from the front and as she was pouring some in they started jumping out!  She dropped the bag wich let the rest of the crickets out in the house....   lol  she quickly grabbed our adult beardie and sat him where the crickets were and let him "vacuum" them up (that's how she put it!).  So anytime she sees a cricket on the floor she grabs spike and puts him down with it and he eats them up.

and I still havn't found the snake.....  lol

still at large....

I am afraid he might have found his way out of the house by now.  If I feel up to it this weekend I'm going to completely clean out my bedroom as I fear he might also have crawled into the clothes dresser that is currently being used to store all of dawn's clothes she doesn't wear... at least that isn't a place dawn is going to be looking anytime soon!

this is the longest he has been mia at a time.  NORMALLY I will find him within a few days in a warm spot of the house or somewhere like the kitchen sink or bathroom where there is moisture.

Once he got out at my parents and my mom found him the next day basking in the sunbeams at our basement door. She actually surprised me by picking him up and puting him back in his cage!

lol narceron is right, my zoo is a little crazy.  I just got a shipment of 1000 crickets in the mail today... they will probably be half gone by the end of the week.
which reminds me I need to find a container suitable for those.... they will eat through the cardboard box they came in if I don't get them moved quick enough!

GREAT STORY

alright so you know how my black rat has been loose... I'm in class today and my phone rings and I ignore it... I'm in class.  Well it kept ringing, it was dawn.  She was frantically calling me freaking out needing me to be home.

I get home and she tells me to be careful opening the front door... she had found the snake.  It has been hiding in our coat rack that is hanging on the front door!  Somehow it climed the corner of the wall and stretched over and wrapped itself up inside the sleeves of the coats hanging there.  Dawn got some great pics of it sticking it's head out of the coat sleeves before I got home.  I guess it just liked the warmth of our front door and coats.  The front door faces east and is warmed by the sun all morning long and the coats hold in that heat...  He was just chillen there for who knows how long! lol

I'll post some pics she took after I get home.

Here's a pic of my lazy dogs today.  You'd think by looking at them that I make them pull a sled through the back yard and plow the fields!

Yeah, those 2 are some of the most spoiled dogs you'll ever meet.  And that blanky was made and given to me by my great grandmother when I was 4, and she died shortly afterwards.  No one is allowed to use it but me.  Period.  Not my Godchildren, dogs, wife, or anyone else.  Just mine.

Those dogs huge or is it my imagination?

I've been looking for a dog for about 10 months, but we are pretty particular, I guess, but I like a couch dog, :)

Devin is just weird on pets.
