Bel Terrick - FINISHED!
« on: August 19, 2010, 05:18:50 PM »
So while I was waiting for the sealant on my new floors to dry this afternoon, I figured I'd use the time to work some more on Bel.
The only thing he really needed to have done was to be re-painted.
(Even though there's Krylon paints in the background, don't worry... they never touched him.)

I tried to go for a mostly worn-leather type of look for his robes, lightsaber holsters, and pants.  Luckily I didn't have to touch the jacket, since it already looks like weathered leather.

Things that were painted: tunic, pants, holsters, leg braces (painted the purple parts green.)
I also permanently attached the leg bracers to his legs so they won't fall off in the future.

...I realize now that he looks like an escapee from a Legend of Zelda game...

I have altered the action figure. Pray I don't alter it further.

Just a few minor changes to bring him more in line with my original vision for the figure.

-Changed the white armor to the same silver as on the leg bracers
-Added green stripes to collar armor
-Added green stripes to forearm armor
-Changed gauntlets to green
-Deepened green on leg armor
-Slight battle damage to his tunic

...and for some strange reason it looks like he's grinning, which is actually sort of creepy, because the figure is in no way grinning.
I have altered the action figure. Pray I don't alter it further.

One final view of him.  You can see in this photo that, in addition to the battle damage to his tunic, I've cut slits following the lines of the tunic itself, invisible while he's standing, but which allow the tunic to bend when he's placed in a position with his legs bent at any angle, for a much more realistic look to his tunic.

I have altered the action figure. Pray I don't alter it further.

And now that I've finished him, I'm working on Bel's personal astromech, R9-o5.

Here's the initial repaint.  I'll be cleaning up the lines and sanding down the chunky gold leaf a bit later.

I have altered the action figure. Pray I don't alter it further.
