one thing I am very proud of is the use of this composite as front cover of the German Star Wars Fan Club magazine earlier this year, Lucasfilm approval by Steve Sansweet.
So one can say playing with toys is serious art  ;D

Art, that is very clever indeed. The way you have used artistic filters shows a mastery of your craft. I love the image, the composition is perfect and the use of figures is wonderful.

Do you remember the filters you used?

oh and more please!!!!

thanks a lot, Jules, coming from such a talent like you its a very encouraging push :)
currently I am working on a pile of commissions coming from cosplayers, but seeing all the customs here (for I searched the posts here as you suggested to do so) is a hell of inspiration, so sure more to come.

To answer your question regarding the filters: well, not much filters used ;) just a lot of layers and various airbrush strokes to paint all over the photographic elements using Photoshop. Then by using Painter I adjust some "intelligent blur" and rework the image with "fast clone" tools, mainly oil brushes, to achive the painterly look. After doing that everything goes back to photoshop, correcting transparency (mostly only on particular areas) to melt the Corel layer and the original Photoshop layers together, also adjusting contrast and things like that.
You can see a WIP here, but its in German language only, the images have to speak for themself ;)

Stefan, I'm using Google Chrome and it has a translation feature so I got the WIP.

Man, you really are good! I am a worm in the soil compared to your mastery of Photoshop and associated programs. I love the techniques you use, they are very effective. I still can't get over what you did on that poster.

Absolutely superb! I hope you make this one of the sites you visit regularly, as I am so looking forward to seeing what you come up with next! I'm sure that the Yarders would love to see you mess with their customs!!!

WOW! I'm really excited!

hey, guys, what are you talking about... such flattering words  ;D
thanks you so much, I am really overwhelmed by your compliments.
and yes, I think I will stop by more often than on other places ;)

Jules, one important thing, you are definitelly no worm ;) you are doing fantastic works, every piece a sriking one, but whats true is the fact that you simply have a different style compared to mine, thats all. Just a different style, but a true brother in composite arts.

thanks, bro!

BTW do you have a banner image 468 px or so which I can use to link to your web comic? I have a little blog running in German and would very much put you on my link & partner page if you give me permission.

Hi Julian,

I decided to put both banners onto my blog  ;)
this is such a cool project!

I posted the small one in the right sidebar as "Featured Partner-Project", shown on every page of the blog, the larger in alphabetical order on my link page.
http://boettcherart.blogspot.com/  |  link page: http://boettcherart.blogspot.com/p/links.html

At the bottom of this link page you will find my banners. Thanks a lot for offering a link exchange, this would be great, but of course you dont have to. Having you featured on my site is just a friendly turn without conditions.

Stefan

thought you might be interested in works and ideas which are in their concept phase... and sometimes will stay there forever  :-[
to much ideas, not enough spare time to create them all as final paintings.
but anyway those quick concept studies are a lot of fun to do and I very much like those loose strokes and lines, they have a fresh and unique look of their own.
And they help me to keep my hand relaxed and get the ideas out of my head  :D

here is a concept for some jungle troopers, enjoy!

That IS slick, Art!  The Biker Scout armor is my all time favorite, and the camo looks awesome.  Another great job!
