Clone Wars 2010 Flamethrower Clone Trooper

Flamethrower Clone Trooper

comments:
A clone trooper uses a flamethrower to fight Geonosioan drones. The trooper's squad is battling their way through a cave to reach the rest of the Republic invasion force. Their mission is to wipe out a droid factory manufactoring powerful new weapons. The clone trooper aims his flamethrower at the attacking drones to clear his path.

http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Clone_flame_trooper

weapons/accessories:
*DC-15 blaster rifle (long  version)
*BT X-42 heavy republic flamethrower (completely new)
*two flame versions
*stand
*Battle Game card
*dice
*instructions
*removable helmet (only the upper part!)
*removable shoulder plating
*removable backpack

the figure:
The figure is number CW26 and part of wave 5 2010 together with Ki-Adi-Mundi, R2-D2, Goji and the jungle camo ARF-trooper.
It is mostly a repainted Captain Rex (Cold Weather Gear) apart from the new soft goods kama with the same problems like too small hands and no articulation in the ankles.
You get also two differnt flame versions. A "normal" flame and a flame which can enclose another figure (battle droid etc.)

the articulation:
*ball-hinged neck
*ball-hinged shoulders
*ball-hinged elbows
*swivel wrists
*swivel waist
*swivel hips
*ball-hinged knees

I'm glad Hasbro made this figure and I hope we'll see a lot of other characters from the CW Geonosis episodes. The figure is more of a static figure and not perfect but still a nice addtion to every clone collection.

8,5/10

Really nice review fiala, a few days i buy this figure, nice figure, but as you probably know with the large flame his arms and turn down, the flame is to heavy, without the stand probably fall the whole figure.
do you have the same problem?

Great review!!

I picked this one up a bit over a month ago and was fairly pleased with the figure itself and the weapons and accessories.
It was a chore to get its hands on the flamethrower just right, but I got it to look ok.
The figure engulfing flame was easy enough to put into the flamethrower, but the stream did not and still will not go in without much persuasion.
And as noted, the figure with flame effects does not stand well on its own for long without falling over.
And it would be great if it had ankle articulation.
Small problems, but things worth fixing
Great review and pics FF.

I happened to run across one at the local back-woods WalMart earlier this week and picked it up.  Looked like they'd gotten in one case of Legacy and one of TCW.  Haven't opened the lil bugger up just yet, but it sure looks neat, in spite of being a Skinny.  I have plans for it already.  Plans to customize and not leave minty...

Ok, what the HECK is up with this lever-mounted head?????  Is the Snow Rex made like that??  That reduces the guy's utility by a significant margin.

Are the FCT and Rex figs from the same mold?  Is the Snow Rex helmet removable?  I'm liking the body overall, but the head-mounting on a lever is ... less than useful.  For a stock fig, it works well, tho.

My experience with fitting in the flame effect - if it isn't slipping in (albeit tightly), turn it over.

I am afraid that they do come from the same mold, Doc. I agree that the lever action head is wonky.
I have plans to hollow out a snow ops rex head and cast it but can only hope that it will leave enough room for a CW figure head.

Great review, Christoph.  If I had any real interest in the CW line, I'd pick this one up for sure!

Very nice review.  I got this figure just after your posting, and I was inclined to post a review, if one wasn't up.  I couldn't have done any better myself.

(I dislike the cloth kama, for there's no place to put DC Blaster Pistols.)   :-\
