The b-wing has turned out stunning, your rendered images really do it justice. The weathering is perfect and I love the markings and decals... I have to agree with Fiala, this is one of the best custom B-Wings I've ever seen!
Well Thank You, Jules.
Coming from you that's always huge. And I love what you did with the vehicle on Nar Shadaar. I'd like to get with you to see what you think about it flying in the background of my fan fic.
Anyway, Back to the bench..or what is my girlfriend's kitchen table for now. This morning I had the chance to start the landspeeder I was able to finish this next element for my first dio. Again, this is heavily inspired by what I have been seeing on Hemble's thread and website. I love his stuff and only hope to get the detail done as nicely as his. I can never get the subtleties like he does.
So, this is what I got away with today. From start to finish...
I gave the entire landspeeder a base coat of this to simulate the metal underneath the paint.
I admit these are not what you will find at the hobby store, but this is what I found in the cabinet in our bathroom. She's been asking where this tube has gone and I immediately turn the subject to how fast I can run down the hallway with the B-Wing.
After a modest smudging of some of this mask I throw down some salt on top...And it peels off just like a masking solution should...
Plus the landspeeder now smells of strawberries and cucumber. After a spraying of some Indigo Blue that I had sitting on the bench, here are the results.
After sanding the mask and salt off, this is the result.
I also had this piece left over from an old Runabout model from Star Trek: Deep Space 9 . I thought it would add a nice variation on the landspeeder, but not enough for a bunch of heat stroked imperial sandtroopers who need to turn in some kind of bust before the end of the day...and Luke and Ben have already passed the check point.
