Thought I'd weigh in with my thoughts on this guy.
The sculpt is great. Everything about it is superb--especially the head, which I believe is the most important. Unless one was rating the sculpt in conjunction with articulation, I don't see how anyone could fault it. It's that good. Representations in the 12" scale aren't this well done.
The paint work is pretty good too. It would have been nice to see a bit of dark wash on the guard's various armored pieces to help bring out some of the sculpted details, but it's certainly not a deal breaker. A lot of folks around here wouldn't have a problem just adding such a wash themselves.
GG is pretty well articulated. He's got a ball jointed head with a fairly good range of motion considering the shape and size of his head. He's also got ball hinged joints at the shoulders, elbows and ankles. Finally, he's got swivel joints at the wrists, waist and hips. As I alluded to in the sculpt section above, articulation is a bit hampered because of it. The ball hinged shoulders are essentially rendered as little more than swivels because of the sculpted shoulder armor; and the hip joints don't move much because of his bulk.
The soft goods skirt looks a bit ridiculous and is really the only fault with this figure. As much as I like the figure as a whole, this skirt nixed the idea of my buying several of these guys. I've seen some folks who were able to futz with it enough where it looked pretty good, but I was never able to get those results.
GG is nicely accessorized. He's got three different weapons which are all nicely done. Plus, his helmet is removable.
So again, all in all, a pretty great figure. I think most differences in opinion will be due to how much that skirt bothers you.
