On the army building part, I think a major part of that issue is the craze is finally over.  I know army builders I speak to say the same thing I do, that they have enough and there isn't enough room.  I am sure there is some army building going on still but I think it is a much lesser extent than it used to be.

As for TRU, I haven't got one near me and never have, so going to them is a rareity to begin with.  By the time I get there the places have been scalped.

Updates Mon-Fri every week, also reviews and much much more.

I tend to agree with Mike on the topic of army building--i.e. price.  The craze is over, in many ways, due to the price.  True, those who've been army building for a long time, probably feel like they have enough; but new people still come into the hobby.    Price is prohibiting new generations of army builders.

Price and knowing that a new version of your army built figures may come out that makes the old version obsolete.

Anybody want an army of POTF2 stormtroopers?  I'm thinking not.

I had a good laugh this morning when I read that Spry. I hope the storm isn't getting you, saw it was downgraded to a 1 so that at least was good news.

Toys r us here in Australia is a very big joke in my opinion, we seem to be stuck on the second wave of TVC figures and nothing new has turned up for a very very long time. Aside from this it is almost impossible to walk in and grab  any star wars merchandise at a reasonable price, for example a regular TVC figure retails at $17.99 AUD ( aprox $15 USD) so you can imagine the frustration for Australian collectors when it comes to price. Which is why i believe that many if not most collectors out of the US (international) choose to go online and buy their products from large toy wholesallers in the US such BBTS for eg. and try to buy in bulk to take advantage of combined shipping rates. Using this method still works out cheaper for us in Australia then walking into Toys r Us and buying off the self. They dont seem to understand that an average customer will probablly buy 5 star wars items a year compared to a collector who regularlly buys multiple items if they are available to purchase. I wonder if other international collectors experience the same concerns.

you guys ain't kidding.TRU has still jacked up their prices, and it's a little ridiculous.I'm always down for ranting about figure prices because it's so absurd that TRU charges us more the $8.00 for a figure.I remember when I could buy any figure I wanted without worrying if it was gonna be there,or how much it was going to be.BTW,L.E.,you do know there's a spell check at the bottom, right LOL?

Other than tru exclusives, my tru is a useless source of older packed figures and half empty pegs. Finding something new there is a rare "and I do mean rare" treat.

I got to visit my local TRU about 2 weeks ago.   By local, I mean 1 1/2 hours away.  I am also lucky to go to one about twice a year.  Either way, I went to get a y-wing.  The place was packed with people and I couldn't find a current sales paper to know what the sale was on star wars.  It was buy one get one half off.  I thought it was the sale for if you bought a y wing, you got a figure free.  If I would have known this, I would have got 2 y wings.   Also pissed that I didn't have money for the kmart sale.  Could have got 3 B wings.

Here's a little insight for all you TRU complainers, for which i am one....loud and proud.  An ex-girlfriend of mine was a manager of a HUGE TRU store here in Sydney, Australia.  She informed me that TRU have no idea what they are getting in...it arrives on the loading dock from the warehouse, they unpack it and put it on the shelves and that's it...end of story.  She, Nicole, always said to me that "we don't cater for collectors" and i have to admit that she is right on that.  TRU cater to little Billy and Polly who come in with their parents.

It's true that TRU are missing the mark when it comes to us collectors who will spend the big $$$$$ to get the items we desire and TRU have no freaking idea of target markets or who their big spending customers are and with the current price hikes it amazes me how they have any god damn customers left.  I probably buy from TRU at most i'd say 3 times a year....and that's being very generous too.

TRU are useless....sure, they may market themselves as "the worlds biggest toy store" BUT i feel you have to have quality product to really lay claim to that title.

thats how it works for us at Target as well, we dont know what all we'll be getting from the DC, we just unload it and put it up on the shelf and thats it...
