New Cardback design for 2012
« on: February 25, 2011, 08:13:32 PM »
I just pray this isn't what we are gonna see in the vintage line. It is kinda the same way I felt about seeing that daggone Rex on my beloved AT-AT Box. What do you folks think?

We all know it's designed to appeal to the kids out there, and frankly, I don't even look at packaging anymore.  It's not bad, in my opinion, but they've done better.

I guess its just the nostalgic guy in me that just hopes the Vintage Line with the retro cardbacks will just stick around forever. Ofcourse paying over 9 dollars at walmart for one of those figures today made me glad I didn't like the look of the new packaging. When Wally world hits ten bucks a figure you know its bad.

Well I don't like this new design much and am hoping they use it a lot. As a carded collector I will save a lot of money next year! ;)

Love it. Professional & clean looking, and a damn sight better than seeing the Clone Wars plastered all over everything.
The only thing I don't like, is how Maul will be used on Clone Wars products. Saga Legends, sure but not Clone Wars... The 2 don't tie in together.
This isn't replacing the Vintage packaging btw.

I think it's a move to get people ready for the re-release of the movies in 3-D. They want people to go watch Episode I, especially the kiddies who weren't even born the first time around. They know some of the older SW fans might skip Ep. 1. What do you guys think?

I think Darth Vader is the unifying element between all the movies and the cartoon series and as such a blend from left to right of the padawan Anakin faceon the viewer left to the Vader helmet on the viewer right would be far more appropriate.  IMO.

But if I were a world-class marketer, I wouldn't be sitting about on me arse like I am!
