Since I have to make another run up to get the last of my stuff from where I've been living the last year-plus, I may have to swing across town to see what the TRU & Target can do for me.  Esp. since I could go pick up some extra muscle (my son) over there to help me load...   ;D

I did get this kwinn figure in the mail yesterday though. an evil bay item. I will try to do a review later this weekend.

Got a baggie full of vintage Joe vehicle parts (as well as a few non-Joe odds and ends) for customizing at NJCC today. My friend Nova, a renowned castor, from Joe Customs gave me the first (slightly imperfect - needs moderate filling on the underside) mold pull from an upcoming custom diorama accessory that will blow EVERYONE away! I will be filling the air bubbles tomorrow or Tuesday and show off the unpainted item before week's end :)

This is the prototype cast item I mentioned in my post on Snday night:

This was one of the first pulls from the test mold so it was slightly imperfect. There were some open cavities on the bottom that I had to fill and I smoothed out the transitions between the skulls (Nova is improving the master mold to rectify these issues before offering any of these awesome thrones to the public). I also modified the design slightly as I added another skull (cut in half) to fill 2 gaps in the back bringing the skulls all the way to the "floor" (you can tell which pieces were my additions as they are a different color than the resin). I really love this design and am honored that Nova gave me one of the first ones he produced from the very first test run.

I am still going back and forth on how I am going to be painting this up. I am debating on painting it to look like a solid object (either metallic or "stone") sculpted to look like it's comprised of skulls or painting it up to look as if it is "actually" made of the skulls of the owner's enemies (i.e. a wooden or metallic chair with realistically painted "bone" skulls). Either way I am painting it, I will be sculpting a cushion for the seat part of the throne. "Star Wars" figures look just fine on the throne but Joes/MU/figs that have double hinged knees have to raise their knees higher or stick their legs out further in front of theml for their butts to be on the seat.

That is mega cool! You gotta paint it up to look like real skulls. A real villian's throne it would be.
