These are...BEYOND AWESOME! I love the story, I love the concept, I love you stick to your vision of what the prequels were and could have been. I applaud you for taking the time to share your ideas--and wish more real fans did as well, instead of being spoon fed the garbage Lucas pushed on the SW community, and then told we had to like it, or lump it.

I hope you continue to share more of these ideas and characters!

You know, that is the great thing about an established mythology, the story can successfully be told over and over again in different iterations. Maybe one day a long time from now an ambitious filmaker will tackle a revisioning of the series...

I've always thought the prequels should have been a more somber, elegant tale, with the Mandalorians at the forefront. I love this Ben Kenobi portrait, it really speaks to what I thought the prequels should have been.

Well look whose back! Glad to see you are still kicking as well as creating. Looks like Pat beat me to the front page.

I love the Naboo SF Design for the ships.

Thanks everyone! I'm glad to see ya'll like the looks of it.

Like I said above I'm giving consideration to George Lucas's ideas from the PT as well.
For instance, Anakin is a racing pilot. I think that's an okay idea. The only difference is he races in space. Which could be even more interesting than Tatooine.

Anakin obviously owns  one of the droids. R2 makes more sense than 3PO. Difference here is that R2's body style is different than in the OT, suggesting a change. The body style reflects the original Ralph McQuarrie design from his conceptual paintings.

Naboo star fighters seemed more like "race cars" than the pod-racers.

As mentioned in ANH, Anakin is already an accomplished pilot before meeting Obi-Wan.

The feel is a mix of 'Flash Gordon' and 'Ralph McQuarrie'. I try to go with the original premise that Star Wars was in the same thought as 'Flash'. I also think that in order to go backward in the Trilogy you have to decipher 'Ralph McQuarrie's' concept designs from ANH, ESB and ROTJ, not to mention some of his other projects.

Obi-Wan's dress uniform was created with late 1800's British Officers uniforms in mind, also befitting of a Knight. I'd like the "Knight" put back into Jedi.

Also to XTS, Mandalorians are going to be the trouble makers. The Mandalorians have been reclaiming independent systems that were once under their territorial boarders. Naboo happens to be one of those systems.

I'll post some more when they're ready.

Thanks again all!  DS

DS your point about making more of the Knight aspect, dropping the druid robes in favour of a more regal Napolionic style is such a great approach and leaves the door wide open for a very exciting re-envisioning of the Prequal Saga, Your vision is a really refreshing approach.

Boy would I love to produce a web-comic of this...

Thanks Jules, I'm a big fan of the Knight aspect of the Jedi too. I envision something close to a Templar in the way that they are devoted to their religion. Battle armor is a must, but they also have a more elegant look in the 'civilized' time of the old Republic. Jedi can't walk around in armor all the time. I also don't believe Jedi should not be allowed to marry or have possessions.

I want so badly to do web comics. Not just a retelling of the Prequels but some of my previous comic covers as well. I'm trying to do a little something right now but it's proving to be very time consuming and time is something that is limited for me. I look at your web comics and I'm far from the effects you can do, especially your space battles. One day I'll have to send you some samples of what I have so far and get some pointers from you. I'd love to do a collaboration some time, but again it's a time issue. I only a lot myself so much to spend on this.

On the above pictures, "the devil is in the details". On closer look Obi-Wan's medals reveal a few with Jedi symbols but the top one is the symbol used by Ralph McQuarrie on the concept stormtrooper helmets. I've adopted it as the symbol of the old Republic.

Also Kit and Anakin Skywalker's racing helmets foreshadow something more foreboding in their design.

DS,

I'm the same in terms of time, what little time I have I'm devoting to XWA... But, I'd be very keen to work on a Prequal re-envisioning, it's something that just has to be done, for all of the old school fans who just aren't satisfied with current version. Maybe when you do have some time to spare send me a PM and we can look at the possibility, I'd be up for it.

I'd never put much thought on how the prequels should have been until now, and your draft imaginings are a real breath of fresh air.

Anyhow, I don't want to invade on your amazing post, you certainly have given us all some food for thought.

I've almost got the next one done. I'll post it some time today or this evening.

Can't show a WIP, but I'll tell ya'll that this next one will be a total re imagining of Qui-Gon Jinn and Gungans. Yes I said Gungans. These aren't going to be the lifeform that spring to mind when one says the word Gungan. Also, there will be NO Jar Jar Binks. I know a lot of you will be heart broken but I think George simply underestimated the intelligence of his audience with ol' Jar Jar.

I will guarantee that all of you will love Gungans after the picture is posted.

Thanks all!
