the new addition looks good, the lines on your paint apps are nice and crisp!  Using the tape and taping off your lines is smart, something I usually don't bother with taking the time to do (and it usually shows!)

It also looks like your pink paint might be a little thick when your applying it, you can faintly see the brush strokes... I usually have this happen with my lighter tones, the fleshtones and white's especially!

now I'm the last one to be giving advice on paint apps (mine usually suck pretty hard) but if you try thinning out the paint just a little bit you might get a more even distribution and not get the clumping.  BUT by thinning it you'll have to put on several applications.

You might also be getting gunk in your brush causing more distinct brush lines... I always keep an extra rag around the painting table to constantly clean out the brush between strokes.  I dip the brush, apply what I can, rub the brush against the cloth to get the "clots" off and then start over.

BUT.... like I said, I'm the last one that should be giving painting advice!  I'd actually like to know what the experts like clonehead and doc-outlands might have to add?

lol this is funny and cool at the same time, for a ladies collection. I also love the candy buttons on the wrist armor. Reminds me of the old candy necklace we would get as kids, man those things were sticky! As for the paint, indeed a bit of thinning and cleaning your brush every 4is dabs in the pot is a big help. I like to thin with a drop of windex when painting any armor or an astromech. It has a bit of gloss to it and dries really, really hard it seems. Great work Jen!

(that puir b@$+@rd! ;D )

Oi, I'm not sure I deserve the titl "expert," Spud!   :o

Seriously, Spud pretty well nailed the advice I'd give, really.  The biggest thing is - the more you do, the better you get.  And geez - you know your way around a paint-brush, I think.

I started typing up some thoughts and before I knew it, I was hip-deep in a full-blown tutorial - not all of which was needed here specifically.  So, I put it over in the References forum - http://www.imperialshipyards.net/SMF/index.php?topic=6616.0 - in case other folks needed it.  It all started from me explaining how I thin my paints to eliminate those pesky brush-strokes.

Nail transfers?  How interesting!  A new avenue for me to explore...

(Glad to see Master Sprywalker has chimed in as I was writing up this reply and the associated tutorial!  I haven't taken a shot at the Windex technique, but I look forward to trying it on some upcoming armor projects.)

Wow, thanks so much for all the help guys ;D Thanks for the tutorial Doc, I will definately check it out and try the windex trick on my next project Luke! I also need to get better paint, I think that maybe one reason for the clumps...it's not a great quality :(  I never thought of the buttons like candy necklace colors, but that totally fits :) Thanks for putting him on the fp Tamer!!!

@Spud: All constructive criticism is welcome and greatly appreciated yosab Thank you ;)

Thanks Darth Daddy!!!

Love the new clone!  Nice contrast between the pink and the gray(?) lower legs.

Light side, dark side...meh.  Just give me a lightsaber and a blaster and I'll take care of it!
