Hi guys, I posted a couple of repaints on here ages ago, thought I would post something I have just finished...
I'm a member of a star wars costuming club here in northern Ireland and have been doing vintage style cards for some of the members...
Jeremy bulloch is a senator for the club and has attended many of the groups 'invasion events'...
Thought it would be nice to do a custom card for him (and also maybe one for myself)
So here is the card, images used with kind permission of their owner mr art Andrews of thedentedhelmet.com ( thanks art)
Card done... Now the figure...
I picked up a modern 'vintage' boba, as it looked as close as possible to the outfit on the card and was fairly detailed...
I also scoured the ailses of Toys R Us and Smyths for a suitable head sculpt for the Jeremy figure, to use as a head swap... struck gold with a Dino Hunter (or something figure) in Toys R Us, double gold in that it was reduced to 1.99 !!! Cash back!
thought it was a pretty good likeness to Jeremy's rugged good looks and with a little 'silver foxing' it would be pretty close...
Opened the vintage packaging and the figure has a removeable helmet which was a god send as i was thinking i was going to have to cut and dremel it... so that saved me loads of time... the head id a basic ball socket, but it gave me a good comparison to cut the Dino figure...
Now to the fun part, kids you will need to get your mummy or daddy to help with this bit.... hob onto 6 , get some water boiling!!!
simmer Dino man for a few minutes... add salt and pepper to taste
using tongs and a teatowel / oven glove - remove the figure
and gently but firmly pull the head from the body ( the head peg should stretch and 'pop' out of the body - hence the term 'boil and pop'...
mine didnt, it sort of tore, but i didnt need the body anyway..
Alas poor yorik i knew him well ...
so this is what i was left with
