So my work bench is littered with bits and fodder and all kinds of things, just the way I like it! I've got Frostbite half painted, working on Ronin--the squad's melee weapon expert based much on samurai warriors with some celtic/medieval looking elements too. Planning a sonic warrior called Fever Pitch, a supersoldier called Strong Arm, and a demolitions expert called Klutz (because a klutz would make a terrible demo guy lol) however he is not clumsy and very good at his job.
I have finished Gearbox. He is my most labor intensive, most detailed custom to date. By far my favorite of the unit and I think you'll see why! He's equal parts insectoid, spider-man, doctor octopus, Doctor Mind Bender, mad scientist, and Q from James Bond.
Gearbox, the squad's tech expert, slicer extraordinaire, Weapons engineer, and cybernetic surgeon. A mandalorian warrior, doctor, and scientist, Gearbox was recruited into the squad for his skills and his twisted but brilliant mind and technical proficiency. Although he is not a part of the general combat operations for the group, and he does not have armor or weapons that feature a combination of Imperial and Mando technology he is largely responsible for the adaptations of the two technologies and the implementation of such tech the squad uses in battle. He himself is more machine than man, his body, a secondary and temporary tool to house his vast intelligence is augmented with many cybernetic implants and appendages. While whole, in all it's original state, he has both arms, both legs, his head, and torso, his spine was grafted to what he calls his "gearbox" a cybernetic housing from which sprouts two fully weaponized destroyer droid heavy blaster arms (each with two heavy laser barrels), four lightweight cybernetic arms each with different capabilities for grasping, lifting, slicing, cutting, and more. Each of his four light arms are insulated against extreme heat and extreme cold and can be magnified, or electrified. He can handle live currents and derive power from a discharging electrical source. Above these other arms is a special computer panel mounted on a lightweight arm with which Gearbox can calibrate his own internal and external machinery, program in extensive operations such as repetitive tasks, hack directly into computers and slice through their security systems, check remote drones and cameras and patch into the squad's comms. His cybernetic arms are capable of supporting their own weight and his weight and he can use them to climb walls or lift himself off of the ground much like a scorpion, spider, or other insect. Directly protruding from his legs are two Destroyer Droid talons with which he can use to steady himself or even dig in as he offers heavy laser artillery support, both from a side arm (in his actual hands) from his grasping claws, or his droid canons. Mounted on these talons are two Mitrinomon jet pack boosters to help him achieve flight and can be pivoted to steer himself up, and down, forward and back. Mounted on his "gearbox" is a standard Z-6 Jet pack that provides the main thrust and lift for his flight capabilities. He has even affixed some medium armor plating to shield the jetpack from stray blaster bolts that might sever and ignite the fuel lines. He has an onboard self destruct ability and his arms and armor can be electrified against outside tampering. He wears standard mando armor and has the usual weaponized mando gauntlets. His helmet features a computerized visual receptor that offers a direct feed and can be used for intense magnification, for hologram projection, visual recording, can be used as a telescopic lens, and offers many different spectrums including infrared, ultraviolet, heat, and x-ray vision. He wears a special adapted aerator on the front of his T-visor which helps him to be able to speak and work in toxic environments. On the back of his helmet he has two external power packs that come online if his suit power source fails and can last a few hours. Under the helmet he's scarred and has exposed cybernetic pieces. His right eye is damaged and has been cybernetically linked to his suit so that his artificial eye can compensate for his vision loss with a feed directly into his brain. Gearbox is ready to assist you with any task you may need him for. Whether you need a new limb, a better weapon, repair work, combat support, he's always got a hand to lend... or eight.
(on a side note I just realized he can actually sit back on his leg talons like a chair. Pics to come)
I know there are a ton of photos, I really wanted to capture this somewhat complicated figure for you as best as I could, enjoy:
