Hey AFE!

I can't believe that I missed these - so sorry mate! They are both fantastic - the helmets alone are wonderful - but coupled with that ace paint job they are a stunning pair of figures. I'm not a massive Mando fan, but I'd snap these guys up without a nanosecond of doubt!! :D

@The Mando: Thanks! Glad you like them! N

@WBs: I think you might be the only one here who isn't a mando-fanatic lol. Better late than never I always say ;) Really high praise--I'm very flattered! So glad you like them! It would be cool if Hasbro started a cross over line (kinda like their Transformers line) with their 3 3/4" figures that featured things like mandalorian mashups. I can't wait to see these three figures with the Z'ceptor when Spry completes it.

Stay tuned for more coming soon! I've got 4 figures cooking at the moment: 3 cyborg/droid Mandos and a Sith Lord! :)

You have some really amazing customs now that I looked through again.  The only sad thing is you can't see Sandy anymore  :(  Hope you like the first part of your story by the way.  :)

Well it's been a productive couple of weeks here at the AFE garrison. I started out wanting to create a cyborg heavy weapons mando and ended up with 7 more figures... I know I know I think I'm nuts too! But to get from one figure to 7 is pretty exciting if I may say so myself. Gonna need to hibernate in the insides of a tauntaun after this. So besides the cyborg heavy mando did my crazy imagination come up with? Well for starters I envisioned a ninja assassin Sith Lord type of character. From there I got thinking of a new type of Stormtrooper, something a step above the average trooper, that you call when you have to fight a Rancor or a Sith Lord. Naturally a "Tempest" is a stronger form of storm, so the name stuck. So in true imperial mash up form I added a new paint job, some aspects of clone troopers and snow troopers and created a new Imperial Stormtrooper variation. 3 Figures to be exact including a female trooper! Then I got thinking about the transformers, specifically my favorite characters The Dinobots, Grimlock and his gang. And started thinking of the cyborg/droid Mandos that Gearbox (the Imperial Mandalorian mad scientist would create) and thus a unit of 3 Man-Droid-Lorians were created. Ok... I think that's everything, without further ado lets kick this update off with...

The Tempest Troopers!

In its glory days the Empire was rife with secret projects, from the Death Stars to the Dark Troopers, it seemed every other Moff, General, or Commander had a clandestine agenda and a shadow operation for one purpose or another. The garrison on Kamino was no exception. Under the guidance of Moff Oss Broffee, the Kaminoan R and D branch designed an infantry unit capable of withstanding the severest of attacks and even tangling with force users. The plans for the Tempest Troopers were developed too late to go into production during the Galactic Civil War, they were later rediscovered and went into production during the Legacy (comics) era. With durasteel reinforced armor that is immune to electricity weapons and all but impenetrable by known blades and energy weapons, the Tempest Troopers are a match for anything the galaxy can throw at them. Combining aspects of basic Imperial Stormtroopers, with the tech and garb of ARC Troopers, and the hostile environment gear of an Imperial Snow Trooper, the tempest trooper takes a beating and keeps on fighting. Throw a sequence entered in their on board computers the Tempests can electrify their armor to avoid unwanted contact, deter melee attackers, or discharge their power cells in a high voltage burst as a last ditch offensive weapon. Even alone a single trooper can turn the tide of a battle. Only a precise high powered blast to an unarmored area can harm them, as their armor is ray shielded (causes all but direct blaster bolts to ricochet) and cortosis dipped. Assigned to Sith Lord's as support units on the most dangerous of missions, they also served as a form of insurance against a force user turning against their troops. Fully armed and capable of putting down the toughest opponents, The Tempest Troopers are all but unstoppable.

Corporal Aeris Ashe: "Ash" is the unit's precision marks-woman and supply officer. Carrying a drum of spare ammunition and an energy adapter strapped to her pack, she assists her comrades on the battle field and scouts ahead to find the best vantage points.

Darth Etherius was a Sith Lord under Darth Krayt's rule during the Legacy era. His face tattooed and in red white and black Sith tattoos, his eyes cybernetically grafted to reflectively tinted view-plates that allow him to see in a multitude of spectrums including infrared and heat, and his lower face hidden beneath a black shroud, Darth Etherius casts an ominous appearance sure to strike fear into the hearts of his foes. He is one of the Sith Lords to be assigned a detachment of Tempest Troopers who serve as an extension of his diabolical will. He seldom speaks, and when he does it is most often to rip intel from the minds of his adversaries. Trained in the most advanced combat styles in the galaxy Etherius is just as deadly armed or unarmed. Equipped with 2 custom made lightsabers that terminate in cortosis blades, he can deliver numerous combination attacks utilizing both unique ends of the weapons. More deadly than any single bladed saber and just as deadly as any double blade. Combined with force powers and Etherius' martial arts skills he is a whirlwind of death. Specifically utilized for his knack for hunting Jedi, Etherius is sent into the field to ferret out hidden Jedi and end their existences.Through the power of the dark side he seems to be able to disappear or even turn invisible, clouding his opponents' minds, blinding them to his presence. He is a master of hiding in plain sight and some even say he can teleport. In addition to his ginsu sabers he also carries a pair of nunchucks that he uses as an equally deadly tool of his will.

Finally we have the creations of Gearbox the mad scientist of the Imperial Mando squad. Programmed each with unique personalities and traits, the Cynox are an ever growing group of Mandalorian warriors that lend support to their organic counterparts on the battlefield. They are hyper intelligent, merciless, and bristling with weapons. Gearbox has downloaded the skills and memories of over 100 of the greatest Mandalorian warriors history has known into each memory core of these three Cynox. The Cynox fight until they are destroyed or their targets are neutralized. If destroyed their salvageable pieces are collected and Gearbox engineers them into new killing machines. Gearbox may have his own agenda for the Cynox but so far they seem to obey their organic Mando squad mates.

NeXxus:

As unfeeling and calculating as one would expect a machine to be. NeXxus is fitted with an assassin droid persona. He hunts, kills or captures his prey, and even takes trophies to adorn his metal chassis. Wearing the tattered jumpsuit of a long dead mandalorian warrior, NeXxus casts a somewhat ghoulish appearance akin to a walking metal skeleton. Armed with a long range rail driver that can pierce solid stone, a jet pack (that pivots up and down) that also houses a micro factory capable of turning raw materials harvested in the field into ammo or grenades, and a side arm blaster pistol, NeXxus has one primary objective and that is to succeed no matter the cost or the outcome. He also the standard rocket launcher and flamer mando gauntlets as well as a shoulder mounted cutting laser for harvesting ore, but it can be rendered an offensive weapon when needed. However he is capable of manufacturing extra rockets or flamer fuel should the need arise.

Mobius:

The forward scout of the Cynox. Often sent on ahead of a formal landing party or planetary mission detachment to gather intel, record all he witnesses, and if necessary begin offensive tactics. Equipped with 2 extra appendages mounted on his back each possessing 2 high powered blaster cannons and research and data sniffing gear. He also sports a repeating blaster carbine as a side arm. Where NeXxus lacks emotion and compassion, Mobius is inherently inquisitive. Eager to study his adversaries, even if it means dissecting them to find out what makes them tick and how best to kill them. Curiosity is a healthy ally for any scout unit and Mobius' curiosity is especially deadly.

Decimus:

The heavy hitter, omega class weapons specialist and "tank" of the Cynox, Decimus is a walking artillery unit. With four arms (yes ok so Gearbox definitely has a thing for extra arms lol) Decimus can deal that much more punch to even the most dug in or heavily armored foes. With a heavily reinforced and fortified outer shell of armor he is virtually unstoppable. Equipped with twin blasters that combine EE-3 carbines and Droid blaster rifles, he has 2 humanoid arms able to perform a variety of tasks and 2 arms that are cybernetically melded with weapons. On one is a Gatling rocket grenade launcher with a maximum capacity ordnance drum for bunker busting. On the other is a laser chain cannon capable of firing multiple shots per second at a continuous rate of up to an hour before depleting the over expanded double drum magazine affixed to his back. Which also houses his jet pack. If those weapons aren't enough he also has a laser guided thermo missile he can launch from the top of his jetpack/ammo pack. He also has two pouches for supplies for his squad mates. Possessing the tensile strength of a garbage compactor Decimus can crush a human skull with one hand, or stomp through permacrete structures with ease. Designed to be the ultimate walking arsenal Decimus is sent in to clear a battlefield single handed as a one-machine army. Neither merciless nor inquisitive, he merely identifies friend from foe and eliminates all foes. It is rumored that he was once a great Mandalorian warrior that Gearbox saved from certain death by creating the ultimate armored hard suit for him, dooming him to a life as a walking weapon, never leaving his armored shell.

I absolutely love Nexxus!  It's the bits of Fett leg pieces that resemble cloth, etc. that, in my mind, makes a solid custom and outstanding one.  This is genius at its best!

Just have to say how much I love checking your work out: you've got tremendous ideas and execute great concepts better than most.  During the school year, I don't have much time to customize as much as I'd like, but following your thread is a great way to take my mind off what I don't have time to do right now (while getting some great ideas, to boot).

Keep up the excellent work!

Light side, dark side...meh.  Just give me a lightsaber and a blaster and I'll take care of it!
