I agree: your "What If...?" one-shots are clever; interesting takes on our fave characters!

Nice "realistic dio" shots of the Hoth battle; you've got killer skills with a camera!

Light side, dark side...meh.  Just give me a lightsaber and a blaster and I'll take care of it!

Thanks Captain Lux!  Glad you approve!

Thanks Mungo! I think Hoth has to be my all time favorite thing to stage and shoot! So much fun to work with!

And, Thank you Jedi Merc! Haha I actually was out in the snow taking those Hoth shots. One of my favorite winter activities :)

Alright, tonight I'm shooting a "What if..." Han Solo series... Space pirates, Mandos... Boba Fett and more will appear!

Stay tuned!

Can't wait to see! If it's even half as great as that Leia series was, it'll be awesome!
I have altered the action figure. Pray I don't alter it further.

So the Han Solo shoot didn't go as planned... most of the necks were too big to fit the Han head I wanted to use. I will still do the Boba/Han "face-off" tomorrow night. Tonight's shoot evolved into something (hopefully) equally awesome, if not even more so! I began playing with a "Han Solo space pirate" idea. You might be thinking, "Isn't he already a space pirate?" and to some degree he is, but he's a smuggler. To me pirates are a bit different, at least in Star Wars, the deep space pirates wait and prey on other ships, raiding them, taking their crew and passengers as prisoners, stealing their cargo, smuggling (yes some), gun running, and scavenging derelicts stranded in space. I created a 'Han Solo-as-a-pirate,' complete with cape, "liberated" Imperial Officer cap (like how real earth pirates would steal Naval Officer's hats and wear them) worn at a jaunty slant, high powered carbine, and Kowakian Monkey Lizard in place of a parrot. I liked it so much I decided, "this is no longer Han Solo! It's Zark Tyfoon Captain of the pirate corsair raider The Laughing Shadow and he needs a crew!" So I set about creating Zark's three person crew including a mechanic, a heavy muscle, his wife, and their pet monkey lizard. Hope you enjoy them as much as I did creating them!

Born on Corellia, an avid thief and son of petty criminals, Zark stowed away on a Spice Freighter as an adolescent and never looked back. As he grew older he became a skilled blast-fighter earning enough to buy a small shuttle and expand his criminal activities to the inter-planetary level. A Fair and merciful man Zark knows a good deal and fair trade like he knows astronavigational charts--like the back of his hand. As a young man he ran into some trouble on Kessel and was imprisoned for stint in the spice mines. In the mines is where he met his one-day love and wife Mahla Sharr--also a slave in the mines. Zark eventually met Beekoo M'ahn, a notorious slave liberator and smuggler. Known through-out the underworld as "The Ax Man" because of the large Gamorrean ax he wields as his signature and preferred weapon, Beekoo was a veritable "boogy man" to slavers and prison guards. Beekoo saw promise in the young boy and he decided to rescue him from the mines. Zark begged Beekoo to take Mahla too and he eventually agreed. Teaching and guiding the two younglings, Beekoo watched them grow to adulthood and become adept smugglers and pirates. With no love for the Empire, nor any allegiances to the Rebellion the three operated as free agents for their own gain--and why not? The galaxy is ripe for the picking. The three acquired a suitable ship--a fast but roomy corsair with enough space for the three crew members to set up shop and heavily modify their vehicle. Zark recalled a mine guard from Kessel that he never saw in person--he only ever heard him whipping slaves and laughing, his laughter drifting hauntingly through the tunnels. Zark had nicknamed the guard "the laughing shadow" and thus when the three new crew members acquired their ship they christened it The Laughing Shadow. Zark met Trazz in a cantina while on a lay over acquiring parts. Trazz, a Rodian was down-in-the-dumps after being fired from his guard duty job at the local fighting arena. After talking to Zark, he learned the pirate was looking for a mechanic to help with his ship's modifications and to keep the ship running--no matter what. Not much for muscle, and actually an extremely dexterous mechanic, Trazz agreed to come aboard the Shadow as mechanic. The three--now a four--began an illustrious career scavenging the outer rim systems and deep space. Zark eventually married Mahla and together they found Bizziq the Kowakian Monkey Lizard, hiding in an old exhaust flashing in the junk heaps of Ord Mantell. Bizziq would eventually learn many skills from the Shadow's crew members and replace any need the crew had for a droid. Zark and Mahla and their crew would live on in infamy as some of the most skilled pirates to ever 'haunt' the deep space systems...

I present a new Star Wars story: The Saga of The Laughing Shadow...

Thanks gentlemen! Had a lot of fun running with the pirate motif! I also used a different lens tonight to get a better shot. My zoom lens has such a small depth of focus, so I used a wide angle lens really tight up on the figures. I like the way it worked! "Pirates of the Kessel Run"

Here are the recipes:

Zark Tyfoon:
Vintage Saga Collection Endor Han Solo (body, blaster, vest, holster)
Legacy Collection Comic pack Baron Fel's officer hat
30th Anniversary Collection Biggs' cape
Legacy Collection Bane Malar's rifle
The Vintage Collection Wooof's bandoleer

Mahla Sharr:
TVC Hoth Leia body
Legacy Collection Rebel Pilot Pack Shira Brie
Exclusive Hobbie Klivian's Tie Pilot holster and DL-44 (source forgotten)
30th Ann. Biggs' blaster
legacy Collection Major Panno's Poncho
Legacy Collection Giran's headdress
TVC AT-AT commander's goggles

Trazz:
Saga Legends Greedo body and head
30th Ann. Biggs' vest
Major Panno's goggles and comlink
30th Ann. Comic pack Vilmar Grahk's bandoleer

Beekoo:
TVC Han Solo Yavin Ceremony Body, holster, and blaster
Vintage Saga Endor Han trench coat
EE exclusive Mandalorian/Omega Squad pack Llats Ward's cape (worn over chest to hide Han Solo's pink flesh and give the appearance of a long tunic under the trench coat) and Llats Ward's T-21 rifle
TVC Hoth Leia's D H 17 blaster
TVC Gamorrean Guard's ax
TVC Wooof's hands and head

Bizziq:
Walmart exclusive Jabba's Throne Salacious Crumb

Feel free to borrow and expand on these recipes :)
