Droidworld's Hoth
« on: May 20, 2011, 01:27:14 PM »
Hello Again!  Both Spooky and I began our Hoth dioramas simultaneously, so you may see some similarities, as we basically fed off each other along the way.  I'm not quite finished, but will share a few pics for now, which give a sense of it:

And I'm still finishing the surface Battle of Hoth, but here's what I have so far.....

With all the excitement over your Dagobah dio, I think this one was lost in the shuffle.

This is just as awesome! I think you covered every scene in the base here! Just awesome!

I especially love the Bacta Tank scene. The lights in 2-1B's eye sockets are over the top!

Thanks for posting!

Excellent set-up!  I can see a lot of time and effort and hard work was put into creating all the fine details.  It's inspiring for me to step up my game. :)

Thanks guys!  I still have a few days of work left, then I'll post the "final" pictures.  And I forgot to post the images of one of the three turntables that are incorporated into the dio.  These were taken when the dio was only half done, so some elements around the turntable are not "final", but you get the idea.....

Wow, love the animated gif style these are in too. You could re-enact the whole Battle of Hoth!

This looks wonderful.

damn you dio builds have some serious skills! I wish I had a) the skills to make something close to these and b) the room to have them. The wife only allows my collection in my man cave and I really don't have too much more room! My hat is off to you and Spooky.... truely awsome stuff!

Droidworld, this is breathtaking! the amount of detail is just a pleasure to behold and has to be one of the highlights of the forum.

It is very hard to point out particular details as the whole thing is so meticulous in its construction. The consoles in the control room must have taken ages, I love the gantry as well. What I wouldn't give to have the skill and patience to put this together!

I'd love to include it in our forthcoming Dioramas Showcase, so could you PM me with permission to include your images. If you have any more images you'd like to add I'd love to include them.

Jules
