Fulcrum

Spoilers (kinda) ahead
So... if you've been keeping up with Rebels and remember my earlier hopes for Ahsoka's entry onto the show... looks like I may have gotten my wish. By now it's a pretty popular theory that Hera's mysterious informant is in fact Ahsoka, and the evidence is quite compelling. When pitched upward their voice sure sounds like Eckstein, that symbol is kinda like Ahsoka's forehead marking, and it just makes sense that Ahsoka would be a reclusive freedom fighter by this time. I said I had hoped she would appear incognito, friendly yet also threatening, and we'd have to wait a while for the reveal, ala Marble Hornets. And wow, if this Fulcrum person is Ahsoka, kudos to the writers on reading my mind/stealing my ideas again!
Anyway, here's adult Ahsoka in disguise with that symbol etched on her mask.

Dear god I hope I'm the first one to make this thing...
I can't believe of all the crazy lightsabers no one ever thought to come up with a broadsword with a lightsaber hilt, awesome idea.

Tarkin's new digs

When standing amongst other officer figures, the vintage Tarkin figure always looked a little out of place with his dark green tunic. A little cutting and pasting on Captain Needa and we have one grand looking Moff Tarkin.

I'm about 99.99% sure that Ahsoka will be featured in Star Wars Rebels in some capacity. Same writers, she's alive, it's pretty inevitable. I'm just hoping it's a cool story. My personal hope is that we'll meet her early on but we won't know it's her... we'll get a few subtle clues and maybe a season or two in we'll get a shocking revelation. If you're a fan of Marble Hornets, I'm hoping Ahsoka we'll be a bit like the Hoody character, basically a cryptic, somewhat threatening but also strangely helpful masked figure who is later revealed to be an old friend.
TO THAT END... here is Ahsoka's disguise in my little fan fix in progress, in which she'll team up with Rex, who now knows Fives was telling the truth about the inhibitor chips and removed his and went awol (the way his character arc was heading anyway I'm pretty sure), and of course Lux as a little team trying to investigate how Order 66 was orchestrated. And of course she's aged since Clone Wars so I tried to make her look like the vision in the Mortis arc as an adult. Thank you Shaak Ti for donating your lekku.

And I can't believe how close I was.

Thanks! The recipe is just the vintage Tarkin, Captain Needa body which is trimmed down a bit in height, and the Power of the Force Tarkin for the rank bars and code cylinders. The only real tricky part was the collar which I swapped from the Tarkin body to the Needa body and did a little repaint, but that's optional I suppose. I just thought it looked right.

I ran out of time yesterday morning to get this one posted, but I made sure I did today. Wow, does it look so much better than the vintage version with the awful soft goods!

Articulated Inquisitor
« Reply #267 on: March 22, 2015, 06:50:07 PM »
I loved that sadly short-lived Inquisitor. Such an eloquent and articulate villain. Sad that Hasbro hasn't made figures as articulate as of late. This is my first venture into adding more articulation to figures with only 5 points of articulation. Now he has knees, pivoting elbows and swivel wrists. For what I thought would be disastrous actually turned out decently. When I'm feeling more ambitiously confident I'll try to add ball joints to his shoulders... but that could ruin the figure so I may hold off.
