Lovin the Marines so far. You should post more WIPs its good to see how you have prepped them here. Nice work but cannot wait to see them done of coarse. I think I would pace by that tree all through the holidays if it sat where I do my work!!  >:D

Oh yeah, had to get that on the front page. Can't wait to see how they all turn out.

Darth Leere: I use acrylic paints also...more specifically Citadel Colour by Games Workshop.  They can chip too, but I always prime my pieces first.  I wash 'em w/ slightly soapy water, let dry completly, then prime w/ Krylon flat colors.  I find that the paints stick more readily to a primed figure than non-primed ones.
Some customizers finish theirs w/ a sealer, but I don't...'cause I haven't foun one I like.  I started out with the stuff you get from the hobby stores, but made the switch to the more expensive stuff several years ago.  I still use the less expensive paints for mixing colors or painting large background pieces or miscellania.

Thanks!  I think I'm mediocre-at-best, but I'd be glad to answer any questions you have!

It's good to be back after a long sabbical.  Finally got the Christmas tree put away, and my hobby table back up.  Here is #4 in my series of Dinobot inspired Mandos, the Mythosaur Squad member known as Slag.

Slag hates everything.  He even hates you for looking at this post.  He'd fight you if he could.  And it wouldn't be a fair fight either.  Surly, foul-tempered and quick to anger, he's on the fringes of acceptance even in the Mythosaur Squad.  In some circles, his name is a common swear word...and he's totally cool with that.  He's packing serious heat in the form of an electron blaster and a rather nasty battle-axe, he'd sooner rush head-long into a fight.  Literally, as he's got a trio of foot-long horns sprouting from his bucket.  Vibroblades strapped to his arms add to his armament.

Thanks, everyone.  Stay tuned for Sludge and a group shot!

@Tamer: LOL, I've actually only got 1 of the 5 left: Sludge.  The others have been up here for a while now.   ;D
