Does HALO 3: ODST count as physical therapy?  That's what I've been claiming, as I work my way through this injured-hand episode.  ;D  My trigger finger is still not fully functional, but given the fact that I have three pair of puncture wounds - one in the lower joint, one in the middle knuckle, and one in the middle joint - and a single puncture in the fingertip, it isn't really surprising.  Overall, the hand is greatly improved - I've been taking very good care of it and keeping a CLOSE eye on everything.

You'll notice I've done some posting and such - I figure pushing a little to use the hand normally is a good way to speed the healing process, if it isn't overdone.  So to that end, I have been painting and photo-shooting as much as I could stand.  Resulted in more of my own projects being shown-off than I've managed in ...   :o  ...a long time.  Haven't done any casting since the cat-fight, but I'm about to.

Me and this casting stuff are about to get serious.  Psyclone contacted me about making some cantina tables for his dio.  Naturally, I jumped at the chance.  It was my second two-piece mold (the first being the R2 domes that I need to get back to!  I haven't forgotten you, Jay!) attempt and the first one, well, I screwed it up.  Ouch.  The tables it turns out are functional, but through my own ham-handedness, I caused the mold to cast an ugly spot.  I'll use those myself, but there's no way I'd send those out to someone!  So I made a second mold and it turned out GREAT!  The two table molds taught me a bit and have encouraged me to attempt more subjects I've previously stayed away from.  I think Psyclone liked them, too.  ;D  Looking forward to see this week's progress on the cantina!!  :D

So in short order, I'll be opening me up a parts thread in the Parts Bin forum like Clint has.  I want to get out there in the shop and cast up a table to take pics of, to show what a buyer will be getting.  After that, well, I'll be making a tutorial showing how I go about making a 2-piece mold and I'll be molding up quite a few pieces out of the "Gee, I wish I could make extra ___s..." piles.

Plus, there's at least one secret project on the drawing-board!  Times are exciting, for sure!

Oh, and on the action-figure-scale paper-model set.  Glenn named it after me!  It is "Action: Outlands" - matching the naming style of his other sets.  It should be available later this week, based on Glenn's figuring.  Naturally, I'll be reviewing it here.

Also, as I'm going through my storage trailers and sorting stuff out, I'm uncovering relics I'd forgotten I had.  That means they need new homes.  So watch Farzel's shop threads for some goodies you might be interested in... *cough*Action Fleet*cough*

Watch those wounds Doc, they could get pretty bad real quick as Clint is quite correct in the toxic stuff in their mouths.

Well, I shot a video last night for the mold-making.  Ok, I shot two, actually.  18m and 9m - and the camera batt's died on me half way thru the second part.  It's atrocious.  I need to get serious about being prepared for the shoot instead of treating it like the camera is a Yarder sitting in the corner of my shop.  Also, the audio on my camera does something odd, so I need to work with that to figure out why it is doing that and see what I can do toclear it up.

Actually, I may shoot a series of stills and assemble them into a video that I record a voice-over on later.

But I do have three molds curing in the shop that are going to be one side of a two-sided mold!

Hey, folks - just wanted to check in, since I've not been real active on the forums over the last week or so.  No, I've not disappeared again this year!  It *has* been a rather hectic week, though.  Sure, there was Christmas, so I was busy making jewelry for four females (yes, I'll post pics) and I'm not finished with it all yet.   ::)  Then there's the paper-model set I'm still building for a good shot at a review, dad's website that I have pounding away on, and the tutorial for multi-piece molds!  Plus I have a few details to do/redo on my Fan-Fic entry.  Plus I've helped dad with firewood a couple of times and a head-injury he sustained Monday night.  (not serious, but bled a lot - head-wounds do that)

So I have been busy.  Once I start getting projects wrapped up, I'll post pics and/or links as appropriate.

Oh, and the cat-wounded hand has healed up quite nicely.  Not up to 100%, but getting close to it.

They have been so far!  For some reason, my youngest has decided she needs to be a big help today.  So I had her clean off one of my white-boards so I can better track my projects.  Now she's washing breakfast dishes.  Wow - the 5yo is doing more than the 24yo...

Dear God!!  This NYCC competition is killing me!!  It is absorbing me, consuming Meg after Meg of memory as we snap pics of the WIP.  I am going to websites I never expected to visit in conjunction with a Star Wars customs project.  I am obtaining items I never dreamed would show up in an action figure dio!  I am building things I never thought I'd build in this scale...

Oh, and I've not even started in on the 5 custom figs I have to make!!!

eh-heh...  Maybe I can do that...  Esp. since I'm planning to drastically downscale the size of the diorama *and* point the camera in a different direction.

My past week+ has been eaten up by dad's website and making sure he had plenty of firewood.  Good thing, given the ice-storm we had and a lack of power for 12+ hours.  Then there's the fact I'm getting involved in a freelance editing effort - helping clean up a space-opera role-playing game supplement.  I got it so  I can set up Fixer's not-quite-Star-Wars universe as a gameable setting!  Well, based on my commentary and politely-submitted "WTF is up with the product??" emails, I've moved from the status of "hey, we have a fan, neat!" to "Dear Mr. McNeill - based on what we have seen of your work in finding editorial flaws and your suggested fixes and general insights, we would love for you to submit your book proposal to us."  w000000t!!!!

preview pics follow!  You won't see any of this in the final dio - but the two go together...eventually...  (the fig is borrowed from Bren as a placeholder only)

No worries - since I'm not going to be using that part of the project in the dio entry (assuming I manage to finish it in time!), I figured I could share.
