Well, I haven't tried since the last real good run.  Being sick has just shot my drive to do anything.  :P  I'm starting to feel better, tho, and the visor is at the top of the list of things to try.

I'm starting to wonder about disposable insulin needles to shoot resin into the crevices...  but I need to try a vibrator first.   ;D

Custom cloner used to do that and claimed that it worked well and that the syringe wasnt that hard to clean.
Try it and see how it works.

What did he use to clean the resin out?  I assume you'd do it rather immediately, too - like *mix* *inject* *CLEAN* *activate vibrator* ;D

I think that he let it harden and used a small screwdriver. Perhaps some kind of disposable small tube or cone  could be used as an extension tip. You could roll up a strip of tape with the sticky side out or mabey even a piece of paper.

*nod* definitely something to work with, then.  That should go a long way to eliminating air bubbles and lack of flow into tight areas.  Like on visor legs.   8)

yep, you would have to work fast though, or in tandom with a partner.

I may need one of those syringes from you if it works out. Oh, I forgot to tell you that I have some accidental two piece molds where the hs2 molds broke in half on me that I still use. I will have to take some pics of those.

I know the steps and have the mold release compound but have never tried it. Are you going to field that one, doc? I think that it might work better with the yellow HS2.

Never a dull moment, Tamer!

Clint, I reckon I can, eventually - unless someone else does it first.  And my feelings won't be hurt if they do.   ;D  I have...a few projects that are prolly best handled by 2-piece molds.  Open crates, for example.

So while we were in chat earlier tonight, Tamer made the offhanded remark to the effect of "I wonder how those visors would look on modern troopers" - modern meaning Imperial Stormtroopers, I assumed.  Being a man of practical ideas and action, I tried it out.  Poor Hondo Karr.

Made some progress on the squad today!  Here;s what I got.

First, I want to give you a frontal look at the sniper.

He's carrying the old AT-ST Driver's rifle, wearing a belt-rig from a Kashyyyk Trooper, and sports a sniper's plate from Cmdr Baccara.  The shoulder-bell and cloak go together like they were made for each other!

Next, here's the status of the camo cloaks.  Almost done.

Finally, I opted to repaint the brown armor details.  I used the colors from the camo pattern - Yellow Ochre, Burnt Sienna, and Olive Green.  I think it'll do.  For now.

Super cool, buddy! worth the wait. That frontal shot is a bit dark but looks so good. you are right, that cloak and the bacura plate and shoulder pad were made for each other. Nice job, buddy.

I like the camo colors that you used.

That visor needs a bit of cleaning and thinning the ears might make it fit the troopers helmet better. Of course, you could shave some of the trooper's helmet in the right places to make room, also.  I'll bet that there is a nubbed stormie helmet that is smaller.
Nice close up shots on those.

Tamer, that's kind of like how I can see, without my contacts in. That is what my enhanced near-vision is like. big and focused.
