Michael, I think you did an excellent job on all of these latest works. Owen's head fits perfectly on the Hoth soldier.
Also, that cantina patron/ maintenance worker/ Jedi looks great.

Thanks, guys!  That was one of those "Hmmm... I wonder if..." moments that worked out fairly well!  I'll be making a mold of Owen's head (heck, I'll end up making molds of every head I own, ball-jointed or not!) so that I can mix things up a bit.

The real surprise was how well the Lars body works in a different setting!  I prolly really will use that body as a 'Station denizen when I start putting together whatever it is I end up calling my sequence of diorama/playsets.

The good Mr. Lars returns with us today, modeling two more headpieces...

#1 - Here he sports the headwrap packaged with Mr. Trinto Duaba.  This headwrap is just the thing for those sudden sandstorms moisture farmers are often caught in.

#2 - Now we see him showing off the head-covering last worn by the comic-pack Mara Jade.  Mr. Lars looks to be wearing a bit thin in the patience department, so perhaps we shall move on...

I almost don't know if this one counts as a custom.  I've been trying to find the right look for one of my characters in the Fixer ramblings and here was today's "effort."  It is little more than a "Starkiller Hero" with everything removed and a Cesi Eiriss head swap.  The baton was donated by a Bespin Guard.  (we wanted to use his manacles as well, but Ms. Brood refused to allow him to remove them from her wrists in time for the photo-shoot)

This is Constable Xola.

Finally, some Yak's Pub-style humor in honor of the fast-approaching Halloween...

I recently changed from being a joe fan to being a star wars fan.  With that in mind, I'll be tossing out my old "verse" of customs and ideas and starting a new one.

I like reading about your "station"  I'm pretty sure it'll be my road map, :)

And now looking at your head swaps, just looking at them give me ideas, lol.

I do not like the term "headswap".... From now on I shall refer to this procedure as a "body transplant" procedure....

LOL - I'm all for that!  An you know... you can get some radically different figures without ANY painting if all you do is pull off certain accessories, pop on a new head, and fit on a new accessory or two.  I mean, that Random Cantina Patron looks totally different from Owen Lars with nothing more than Needa's head and Luke's floppy hat.

why dont we refer to head swaps as "The DOC Solution".....?

A well-built sniper rifle is a beautiful thing. Ours has two zoom modes, "Up close and personal" and "Hello, you're dead

Just a quick couple of shots.  The crates are from http://www.itarsworkshop.com/ - solid resin casts.  In the first pic, I posed five basecoated paints with their untouched brothers alongside a droid for scale.  In the second picture, the orange machine is a solid hydrostone cast from http://nalsworkshop.com/, built with blocks from one of Bruce's latest molds - Industrial Machinery Builder, I think.  Right now, everything is just basecoated - the rest of the painting has yet to be done.

Doc,

I am new here and I have not got a chance to speak with you yet. Wanted to say I poked around through your customs all 29 pages and man I like what you are doing.

The Sniper's looked great and were fun to pillage through. Brendan I take is your son or something. His Airborne gang looked good also.

Nice job mate. Keep em coming.

Thanks for the compliments, DC!  Yeah, Brendan is my son.  He and my middle daughter have a good time hunting thru pegs for good figures to customize.

Sorry for the lack of pics, folks!  I'm having to use pics from a new hosting source and I copied the wrong url!  Got 'er fixed this morning, tho.  Enjoy!
(oh, the droid in the pics is just a mash-up of BAD parts with a RoC Elite Viper armor vest.)

Aw, I haven't cast those (just the wall panels over in my blog) - I bought the crates from fellow casters.  I'm working with them to design and produce some larger ones closer to scale with action fig's.  They had no idea there might be a market outside the 1" wargame figures for their stuff.  But yeah - I am back to casting stuff!  Didn't realize how much I missed it until I broke out the molds and resin!

Pretty soon, I'll have a dockside "dio" built from cast pieces to use for a photo-prop to show off new fig's.  I'm experimenting with layout and detail-pieces to get the look I really want.
