Fixer is a fixing! That is a neat effect with that smoke. I think the darker grey will work as I had to go back and look at the BAD droid head and then I saw it easily. Still, a neat effect.

awesome stuff.  I think I'm going to have to get one of those med-bots now.  I didn't know all those arms were articulated.

as far as the joe bodies, articulation is superb.  They can do things that your star wars figs can only dream about.

I take it you haven't read the fiction pieces I posted the link to.  Fixer is an FX-7, modded by a Verpine engineer.  I need to actually do up a Fixer custom for illo purposes.

My wife corrected me, I actually dream about natalie portman in the white uniform(she thought I was trying to be less obvious by picking leia, lol).

I retaliated by making her watch episodes I and II tonight, woot!

I need to run and get dvd copies of the clone wars, the OTC, and fanboys to complete my little geek movie fest, lol.

I will read your fic, fixer seems like a cool droid, :)

... narc you have issues, idk if I want you staying here during the meet...  :P j/k

sorry I hadn't seen the fan fic post, and I havn't read them.  I saw a comment about the fixer droid having tank treads?  the little droid that comes with the jawa in the legacy collection has a nice wheel/tread base that might work on the taller figure.  it also has all those crazy arms that you could add to the one you've already got...

Technically, he had wheels from a couple of MSE droids installed.  Go to http://outlands.tripod.com/gallery and read the SW fic I've posted.  Then read the story I've started posting in the Library here.  Fixer is, imo, a great character.  The issue with Tredwell droid arms has actually been addressed in-character.  ;D

No customizing on this puppy yet, other than removing the guns on the arms.  I did, however, try out a backdrop of plastic canvas painted with Krylon's Camouflage ultra-flat black.

doc are you steeling my swoop bike transformer idea?  i see parts laying on that newspaper that goes to that figure....   fett  lol.  hope you do something a little different than I did, don't paint it all black!

where did that mech come from? it looks alot like the fork lift mech from aliens...  I like it, it needs to be a different color than yellow though.  I'd paint it black/grey and put the yellow caution stripes on it somewhere.  How articulated is the mech's legs and arms?

Pretty much!   ;D  My wife found one - Reverb, I think? - so I'm borrowing your approach.  My plan is for a much...flashier paintjob and probably some steering vanes either forward or back.  Prolly back.  Thanks for sharing the idea!!  Right now, it is totally disassembled with primer drying on its various parts.  I plan on reassembling it and gluing it together into a non-transforming solid whole.

The 'loader *IS* the USCM/Aliens loader - good call!  Articulation is...nonexistent.  The arms pivot at the shoulder and the claws open and close.  The legs have no articulation at all.  There are mounts for machine-guns on each upper arm and a platform for a weapon-station that rides against the back and pivots up and over the head.  The cage on front opens to allow fig access.

I agree on it needing a different paint-job.  I've got it sitting out and visible so I can jog my brain every time I walk by.  I'm thinking maybe a Panzer Grey base with high-viz safety markings.   It is hollow inside, so I'm wondering about slipping a lighting harness inside.  That could be fun.  I mean, I figure I'll be taking it apart anyway to prime and paint it.  Heck, I might even give the arms some decent articulation in the deal!

Hey doc,

have you considered putting the arms from that loader onto the GIJOE mech?

this one:

looks like it would be a good approximation for what you're going for:
