If I correctly recall, DS told me at the time the head was an experiment?  He was interested to see what I could come up with to match it.  I'm not necessarily "old enough" but my grandpa used to watch Bonanza so he's as much Cartwright as Adama to me.  I keep holding out, waiting to see what else I can find that looks right with that head on it... but so far, this is it!  I find it rather humorous that so far he is pretty well cast as a high-ranking *Star Wars* military officer in my figure collection...

I think, after seeing him in pics, I'll leave him as-is and put him on the paint-desk for completion as Imperial Commander Adama.

Part of the sudden rise in "TV characters made into the SW Universe" theme we're seeing...  ;)

That's classic, doc!
I can't believe I didn't recognize him until his identity was revealed. That sculpt is pretty much spot-on

I don't think Thundercats had a 3 3/4 line.  Did they?  It would be cool to use them in a SW line of figures.

Interesting to see how this turns out Doc.  I'm too young for Bonanza or the original BSG, my first thought was this guy could be Ernest Borgnine...

Light side, dark side...meh.  Just give me a lightsaber and a blaster and I'll take care of it!

Anything more happen with that Twi'lek smuggler? I liked where that was going.

Not at the moment - I've been busy with the mini-rig competition and with getting some molds made, particularly for the "iconic box" prop, and trying to get my wife and middle daughter revved up and off to Dallas, TX for a vocal competition this weekend.  She's most assuredly NOT abandoned - just not the top priority at the moment.

Hey Doc. That's a pretty good match! He may look good on the new General Lando body from the Vintage line as well.

That head is not my sculpt. That is actually a copy I cast off of a vintage Commander Adama figure I had as a kid. I always thought it was a dead on likeness.  I fully intend on making all of the Cartwrights one day.
I loved that show! Still watch it today.

I have plans for TV show adaptions in the ArtThread. To go along with the character theme I've got going over there.

:thumbs-up: on the recast!  I agree, it is spot-on.  Man, if it fits the General Lando body, that could be some fun.  The Commander, an Old Republic die-hard, isn't sure about this new "Galactic Empire" business and, during a long patrol in frontier-space, defects to the Alliance.  I smell a photo-comic in there! (dunno if I want to pursue it or not, tho...)

My kids love watching the Bonanza dvd I got, too.  I think it is the first few episodes?

Are you talking about the pilot episode where the Cartwrights ride off singing the Bonanza theme song?
If so, please try to rip the song off the DVD for me. It is different from the song later published and very rare.

As you know, I've got a lot of irons in the fire and customizing has taken a back-seat to everything else.  Well, I changed that today, finally completing an idea that has been with me for well over a year.  I love the build-a-droid concept and I want to create new "not-quite-SW" looks for droids - that *could* still pass as EU droid models.  I have four specific concepts in mind that I want to pursue to those ends, hopefully even casting the heads to fit onto BAD torsos.

Here is the first realized design.  I started with a U-3PO body and to it I added the head from a "Vader's Chopper Droid."  The head had a bulge at the end of the neck-post that needed trimming to fit into the neck-socket.  Other than that, no mods were made.  Interestingly, the medical droid head actually has two distinct faces on opposing sides, allowing for even more customizing.

Here you can see the protocol droid, in the service of the Absynnian smuggler Myo, conferring with its master.
