Clone Wars Republic Fighter Tank
« on: May 10, 2009, 07:03:31 AM »
I found these images on Scum, this weekend.
Notice that on the box art of this one, it also reads "insert converts into diorama"

On the vehicle, I notice several footpegs to mount figures riding on the outside of the vehicle and what appear to be storage bins on either rear quarter of the vehicle.

I was actually considering passing on this one although it could be a good vehicle for a converted Gunship to carry.

I guess I'll have to buy two and make up for you passing on it, then!   ;D  Have I mentioned I like armor?

That really looks cool I'll probably only be getting one but why can't they make it look like the image on the box instead of so white!

This would be cool as an Imperial version like they are doing the arc  170 now.

Yeah! that grey and black color scheme with a touch of silver would make this thing rock.

That is sharp, I wouldn't mind having one for my coruscant guard.

I need to find them some sort of repulsor vehicle.

You got a Coruscant Guard, Narceron? Do you have the impossible to find Fox, as well?

impossible to find?  Nahhh, I had my best men track him down(and I begged my wife to get him for me, and she did, little things like "finding figures" don't affect her).

I have fox and a nice start to a squad thanks to the yoda battle pack.

So if any of you guys have coruscant guards you don't want(skinny clone style), let me know, :)

Did you get a chance to check out my legacy versions of Fox and the guards? I was wondering how they compare as I never had the skinny versions.

If you have the Clone Wars game, these are the first things you get to ride! They have autotargetting systems and rocket launchers and you play as Mace Windu. Pretty fun.

I got my fighter tank about a week ago and it's already being customized... lol.

I love this thing.  Probably one of my favorite NON-spacefareing vehicles made yet.  I've never liked any of the walker toys because it's just not practical for play or posing (with the wacky and wonky leg joints half the time) so I realy like this thing.  I don't like the dinky little gun on the turret on top, kinda puny for my tastes... but that's an issue for the customizing to fix.

the "storage" bays on both sides aren't realy for storage, they have two molded in missiles and some greeblies cast into it, nothing removable though :(.  it's a nice detail but I would have liked it better to have some clips or something to hold a few blaster rifles or just a flat bottom to it instead of the retarted missiles...

it has wheels on the bottom which is a cool feature for play...

my only disapointment is that the two sides don't swivel as it does in the battlefront games.  It had a kind of independent suspension feel to it that I liked, the toy is very rigid and all basically one piece consisting of a clamshell housing.

as far as customizing went it was alot more labor intensive to get the bottom seperated from the top that I'd have liked.  There is a rear piece that has been glued on to hold the two pieces together.  This can be sidestepped by using an exacto knife and alot of elbo grease... I'll post a tutorial on how to get the thing apart and customize it in the customs section...
