My daughter and I are going to the Nintendo Store in my town (very rural) today. I have no expectations, but who knows maybe I will be able to add a Mario something or other to this thread as my daughter loves it too.

Great figure.

I hit NJCC this morning and scored over 2 dozen Joe and other lines accessories for future customs as well as an incredible custom cast skull mound.

After NJCC I hit a TRU local to the show and scored the newest "Pacific Rim" Kaiju,  Otachi.

Picked up the Luigi amiibo figure yesterday, but from the Super Mario series. Next is Mario.

And got him. Stopped by Wal-mart today before getting lunch with a friend. Good thing I did, it was the last one on the shelf so I lucked out.

My Dalek army is getting HUGE!

The empty space on the glass shelf is for the black stealth variant of the Dalek Patrol Craft when I find one.

Today is "Free Comic Book Day" and I hit my 2 Local Comic Shops (LCS), Zapp Comics in Wayne NJ and Time Warp Comics And Games in Cedar Grove NJ. Aside from all of the free books being given away, Time Warp was having an INCREDIBLE $1.99 sale on select trade paperbacks (TPB) and hardcovers (HC).

Here is a pic of the "Watching The Watchmen" (HC) books I got today:

The top 2 are the deluxe Comedian variant cover editions with the comic-sized prints laid out so you can see the front and back. The bottom is the standard Dr. Manhattan version without the prints.

The original prices were $39.99 for the standard and $50 for the deluxe s I got $139.99 worth of books for $5.97+tax, you cannot beat that :)

I also got a $19.99 "Gears Of War" HC for my stepson for $1.99.

My haul from Free Comic Book Day!

I got tons of books, but these are the ones I am keeping:

Top Row:
Official Marvel "Avengers: Age Of Ultron" magazine

"2000AD"

Bottom (l-r)
 "The Phantom"

"Legendary" (contains a "Pacific Rim" short story)

"Dark Horse Comics" sampler (contains a "The Strain" short story)

"Bob's Burgers"

Boom Studios 10th Anniversary (contains a "Labyrinth" short story and classic "Peanuts" reprints

"The Tick"

"Doctor Who"

This is one day I envy my urban and semi-urban friends. I don't have a comic book shop anywhere near me. I did go see Avengers yesterday though.

My preorder from Hasbro Toy Shop came in early (original estimated ship date was 6/8/15). I got my 3 "Avengers: Age Of Ultron" Scarlet Witch figures I wanted for their heads and Hex effects.

I also got another example of Hasbro's great Quality Control. One of the figures' legs is completely unpainted showing raw black plastic (see the second pic for a close up comparison shot of the factory error and correct figures).

A lot of "collectors" would immediately put this up on ebay with some ridiculously exaggerated description like "SUPER RARE! ONE STOCKINGED LEG VARIANT! VHTF!!!!" and a BIN of 4-10 times the retail price, but I really don't care.

I photographically documented the error for posterity's sake and to remind my fellow collectors and customizers to check every figure carefully before purchase :)

Interesting. I just ordered one of these for my daughter who is big into Marvel now. I hope it shows up with full color on both legs.

Got the new Avengers Scarlet Witch and like Dan wasn't really impressed, but my daughter likes it, especially the hex stuff.

Also on Dan's advice I picked up my daughter the new I am Elemental Action Figure Set which is a set of seven girl super heroes and she hasn't put them down since we opened up the box on Thursday. We also got her cousin a set and those should go over equally well. I have to say I am very impressed with the quality of the figures, the paint work, the articulation, and the general message they send. It is hard being an action figure collector if you are a gal, but these are right up their alley. Heck I like them too! We are gonna have to get their six inch courage now too.

Get your daughter some I am Elemental Action Figures!

Since Dan previewed these at Toy Fair this February I have really been intrigued by this new action figure line. As an action figure collector trying to promote this hobby to my daughter has been a downright chore with their really being limited action figures for girls, many of which do not portray women in a good light.

Well Dan sent me some promotional material a few weeks back and my daughter has been relentless in her pursuit of getting some of these. Well I rewarded her this past week with a set of them and she hasn't let them out of her sight since we opened the box. Folks, if you have daughters introduce them to I Am Elemental you will not be sorry.

Be sure to get them from site sponsor Big Bad Toy Store as well. They will ship them to you right so you get them in wonderful shape!

Look for me and my daughter to review these in the future. Trust me she is putting them through their paces and they have held up wonderfully!
