I received packages from Cap and drbindy of Joe Customs today containing all of the awesomeness pictured below!

The biggest surprise were the 2 vintage "Dragonheart" dragons in the box from Eric. I had these guys (and the larger Griffon Dragon and the electronic supersized ultimate Draco) almost 2 decades ago but they were lost in one move or another. I was actively looking for them again at NYCC and local toy shows/shops last year but gave up hope of ever having them again so imagine the joy I experienced when I pulled them out of the bubble wrap! Maybe someday I will reacquire the other 2 as well.

I got tons of great figures, dragons, accessories and diorama pieces today and I still have at least 3 more trade packages on their way to me that will contain even more customizing awesomeness! ????

Thanks again, guys!

Another $1 store score!

A few months back, I got a trade package from Dark Jedi on Joe Customs containing, in addition to the items we traded on, an assortment of small dragons. The adult dragons were molds I already had from a pair of polybags I had gotten from a local $1 store, but the dragon hatchlings breaking out of their shells were new and awesome. After all of this time, I lucked upon several packs of dragons with the hatchlings included. I found these at the same store I had gotten the polybags from last year. The hatchlings were worth the $1 a package by themselves. The hatchlings need painting, but the sculpts are pretty far above dollar store quality.

They had 20 packs but I only picked up 10 for now. When I have some more "fun money", I will swing by the $1 store again and get the other 10 if they are still there.

I am so tempted to get into HACKS, but have resisted so far. They do look great though. Those skeletons are right up your alley Dan!

The Greek stuff really did not do much for me aside from the Skeletons and snake bodied Gorgons, but the next Series due early next year is fantasy based so I will be buying tons of the Orcs, Knights, Barbarians, etc.

After that is the Retro Space series which pulls its inspiration from 50's and 60's sci-fi imagery (lots of jet packs with fins, bubble helmets and ray guns :)   ).

Series 4 is Pirates Vs. Merpeople which will be awesome!

They are a bit pricey at $20 for named characters, but they are worth every penny as they are SUPER articulated and have some of the best paint apps I have ever seen at this scale. The Boss Fight Studio crew are all former Hasbro designers/sculptors/etc. so if you like TVC era Star Wars figures or modern (25th Anniversary to now) G.I.Joes, then you will love these figures.

Grabbed 2 Skyrim Dovahkiin figures at a local Target (Columbus, Ohio). I don't normally collect 6" of anything, but he was too good to pass up at $16. The extra is for my brother, who's currently on another Skyrim kick (I'll never go near it again! I have a life now!)

As a teacher of history (Ancient Greece at that) I could so set up a few mini-dios with these. Maybe. We will see.

I am sure I will decide I want em when you can't find em anymore.

I had a $5 Toys R Us Rewards voucher emailed to me today so I hit the Totowa TRU and snagged another Schleich Big Feed Set. Cost me nothing as it was $4.97 but the vouchcer negated the cost so there wasn't even tax to pay!

My Mario haul this past week includes:

Princess Peach from the World of Nintendo line. What's a Mario collection without the Princess?

Bowser from S.H. Figuarts. I'm just blown away by this figure, the likeness and detail is fantastic.

I also bought a Boo and 8-Bit Donkey Kong. I have an extra 8-Bit Mario I'd like to paint, representing his appearance from the game Donkey Kong to go with the DK figure.

Lastly I picked up an amiibo Mario end level display. I wasn't going to pick this up initially, but it was marked down 3 times. It started out at $24.97, then $19.97, and finally $14.97.  At that price I had to get it. I don't collect amiibos but I thought this would make a nice display piece to go with the action figures.

Snagged this on clearance at TRU for $2.97. I have wanted that golden armored elf for a long time but didn't want the other figures in the $10 pack.

I hope to score another at this price in the near future so I can have 2 of the golden armored elves as guards in my diorama.

Hit the TRU in Secaucus NJ after dinner with my wife looking for another clearance pack of elves with no luck. I did find this cool Schleich Dragon Knight with awesome fire weapons for $2.97 on clearance.

I had 2 of the awesome Schleich "Magic Fire Swords" but wanted them to look unique so I modified the one on the left with the fire plumes from the helmet of the knight the sword came with to make a "tri-fire sword".

Dollar store haul!

I returned to the dollar store from a few weeks back and snagged the last of the dragon packs with the hatchlings.

I also grabbed 4 necklaces to harvest the crystals within their mesh for future projects. Sadly, the black crystals are horribly malformed with tons of air bubbles and poor moldings- they will end up being coal or some other rough stones after I hit them with Testors Dullcote to kill the shine.

Interesting way to get crystals.
