Thanks, everyone!  My son has been building stuff for a little while now.  He started kit-bashing/painting figs like dear ol' dad...then progressed onto scratch-building ships on his own.  He is obsessed w/ Uglies...and is into figuring out what ships he can combine into new ones.  More pics to follow.
Yes, past that art for future generations!  DH As soon as he finish, post them!

That Generator Rex bike is amazing, I was browsing my local Wal-Mart's clearance section and came across the bike for $5, I picked it up and did my own custom. I'll post pics soon, but I just wanted to say thanks for the inspiration, your customs are awesome.

Thanx, everybody!  I have a Clone Sniper Hovertank, a custom "snoopscoot" X-Wing and a repurposed Falcon in the works.  It takes me FOREVER to work up the nerve to start a vehicle...the Sniper Hovertank and Falcon Redux have been on the table for two years already.

I wish I had that heavy cruiser of yours.  Along with your Mythosaur squad. ;D
Call me master, cause I'm faster on fire.  I no longer have to hotwire, I'm a hunter for hire wit no plans to retire and all the sucka MCs can call me sire!  Screw the Jedi and the Sith.

I'm diggin' your stuff.  I especially like your Mando speeder.  I used the same Corps hover craft for one of my customs.  Check it out.

Re: Darth Optimus' Vehicles NEW! 11/29 Republic Sniper Tank!
« Reply #23 on: November 29, 2012, 10:25:15 PM »
Sooo...  It's been a whiel since I've posted a vehicle.  I've had this one finished for a loong time, but just not reall happy with it.  That's part of the reason I don't do vehicles more often...they just don't seem to be my thing.  Also, they take longer to complete than a figure.  Anyway, here is the hovertank that goes with the clone crew I posted a very long while back.

"The Greyboys" aboard a prototype Republic Sniper Hovertank.  Sniper HTs were introduced midway thru the war with the CIS.  Designed to operate behind enemy lines, the unit is equipped with cutting-edge targeting equipment.  The targeting system is tied into a spotter unit and the cannon can fire it's projections from several hundred clicks away.  The spotter is equipped with a prototype Heavy Recon Jetpack.  It is equipped with specialized scanning and targeting gear, is highly manuverable and is equipped with twin ship-grade heavy blasters is trooper Snoop is spotted.  Everything he sees and scans is uploaded via tight-band holo communication to the Sniper HT.  The data is sorted by the onboard astromech tagged "Greyboy".  Greyboy is in charge of the primary cannon.  The squad is headed by Commander Phaze, an expert in mechanical engineering and piloted by Lt. Sy'iid.   Phaze and Sy'iid man the anti-weapon blasters in case of enemy contact, and Greyboy can operate a concussion missle launcher and ion cannon for medium distance foes.

From the pics, she still needs some work...I can see spots I missed in painting/weathering.  The base is a CORPS! tank with the treads removed and replaced with empty cans of Silly String.  The "gravity drives" on the front of them are a cat toy cut in half, and the exhaust in the rear are soda bottle tops and caps from the wife's hair dye.  The sensor dish of from a true vintage Falcon.  The missle launcher on the "short" side is from a CORPS! ATV.  Other random greeblies applied.  Thanks for tuning in!

I like it! I've done two of them and I have another CORPS! tank boxed up for when I get time to do my last one :P Keep up the great work!

Why go through life base fig, when you can customize?

I love the design of the vehicle but the paint aps are throwing the look off a bit. I think the biggest problem is that you had too much paint on the brush when applying the blue and the weathering. Less paint makes the chipping and paint wear more realistic.
