lol I'm assuming his little backpack is somekind of anti-gravity stabilizer... lol.  yeah I don't like the locked knees pose either!   he'd look to much like iron man....

I'd definately take the jetpack too, maybe both... superb mobility that way.

here is an OLD scratch built colonial viper (battlestar galactica) that I did trying to match the action fleet scale.  This ship is made entirely from sheet styrene, cardstock paper and three sections of pvc pipe (for the engines).  The canopy is made of some clear plastic from a star wars figure's packaging.

enjoy:

now obviously I think if I revisited the project and did it over I would come out with something ALOT better looking... something that didn't have courogated card board showing! hah!  lol  but it was a fun little project that kept me occupied for a few days.  I never have got around to repainting the markings and details onto it either.

very nice Spud. I like the Vipers. I hate to admit I still prefer the old TV series to the new one that SyFy did.

tamer, do not be ashamed! I loved the originals so much more!  I tried getting dawn to go back and watch them with me once though and she couldn't get past the bad acting, hokey effects and horrible soundtrack! lol

I've been inspired by reconsgt to do a 3.75" scale viper based on an x-wing shell like he's been working on.  I just bought up two battered and beaten old x-wings on e-bay for fairly cheap to do it...  Can't wait for that stuff to arive!

some concepts I'm working up on the customs table

mech:
IDK where this mech originated but it is close to the 3.75" fig scale so I am going to try and customize it into something that you'd see in star wars.  any suggestions of what to do with it?

this is something else i'm working on.  I got this glider from e-bay that came out of a target exclusive gi-joe pack (I think from the new line, i'm not sure) originally for use as a mandalorian custom jetpack...  when I got it in I realized it was much too big for a mando pack to look right.  So I'm thinking about doing a variation of my "high altitude trooper" using an animated clone and this glider pack.  I'll do it in the same "urban" grey tones cammo that I did my trio of clones in.  He will be their "aerial recon support trooper" or something like that i guess.

here is my finished take on the scuba mando concept.  he turned out REALY blue so bare with me on that...

basically he is mostly a gi-joe figure which arms have been replaced by a boba fett's arms and the shins and feet have been replaced with boba's by way of the method I explained in my tutorial on super articulating the animated clone.    The base joe figure was a cobra diver figure.

The aqua-sled is from the underwater corps pack as is the little hammer-head shark.

pics:

here are some wip pics of my super arty regular mando i've got on the table right now

well, pick it apart guys and give me some feedback

From my point of view, I don't see anything to pick apart!  Blue is my favorite color, so I can't complain too much on that!  The excellent use of G.I. Joe figs lately is fantastic, and the mods to the packs and hoses and stuff are awesome.  I've never understood why they can make EVERY G.I. Joe fig with super articulation like they are, but can't do the same for Star Wars.

Oh Spud, I like him! I like the blue also. That side shot of him on the sled is priceless. You ought to try a little underwater dip for him using plastic aquarium plants as vegitation.

Ditch the mag on the Red Mando's left-hand gun.  Makes it look too real-world.

Get aquarium backdrop and shoot Mando on location.
