ok guys... the other day I ran across a guy on deviantart that had done a bunch of concept mando armor designs... one of them was a "swoordsman" and that got me thinking...
a mando with a samauri theme or ninja theme would be realy cool... So I got to looking in my foder bins and I ran across an old VvV gi-joe Zartan. this figure had flip around blades on his wrists that with a little work could be removed. I thought they'd be perfect gauntlet weopons for a mando! then I ran across an extra 25th aniversary cobra eel, they have gauntlets on their wrists that are just plain gauntlets... I figured this would be the perfect thing to use for a base for the flip out blades...
anyway I also used a new technique to mold a chest piece from another mando by pressing the existing figure into modeling clay and then pouring resin into the resulting mold. worst thing is that it pulled the coloring of the clay into the resin...
anyway... the plan was to paint over it... but I screwed up the paint and stuck my fat fingers into it and wiped it off... but what resulted was a realy cool weathered look with the armor being the red color that the resin pulled from the clay. so I left it... let me know what you guys think and tell me if it looks like crap and if I need to repaint it!
here is the figure before any paint:
here is the finished figure:
welll.... I know... it's another mando... but... it's a NINJA MANDO... how much more badd @$$ can you get?! lol
