I like the look of the Smuggler's start, Devin. That Commando Droid still juices me up. I put him on the front page.

Just saw the super arty commando droid on the fp, awesome Spud. Looks great. I am liking the Shaaki Ti with full superarty treatment too. These look sso good, why can't we get the same treatment for all SW figs. I guess we got an answer about that didn't we.

Hey, I would love to see you do a full superarty treatment to a Republic Commando. Think you could do it?

Now thats articulated!! Did you ball joint the hips? The smuggler looks great too. A greeny or browny colour would go well. Is that head too big for tat body though. On my comp she looks top heavy.I have to see it finished though.

The Super Arty Commando Droid is sweet, but I'm LOVING that Togruta Smuggler.  I think they're all red skinned, but perhaps the markings could be made to be darker.  Some blacks, greys, and maybe some greens and a small spattering of yellow or white as an accent color in her uniform, I think would look good.   Check out our Cultures Section and find the Togruta (Search box works too) and check out their species' skin tones and see what to do.

we can always use more smugglers, which are often over looked,  i was just thinking of darth vader hiring boba fett & company, so why couldn't smugglers suppliment impireal supply lines or maybe like the scene in apocalypse now when martin sheen wants to buy fuel as chef buys panama red

The commando droid  is fantastic.  The extra articulation really improves the droid.  Hasbro could have easily used ball-joints in the first place.  I can't suggest much for adding articulation to the waist.  The only idea I have would be to add a ball and socket  where the pelvis meets the abdomen.  You could do the same thing for the abdomen and chest.  Seems like a lit of work for a limited gain in articulation...  The droid you made is already a vast improvement over the Hasbro version.
We had 5 POA in '78...

clonemedic.... it is a custom.  I put added articulation in it, please go back and read the post for instructions on how to do it.

ok, for my next non mando custom I did a togruta smuggler.

Basically it's the legs of a paris persuit barroness on the body of Reactive armor scarlett with a modified shaak-ti head.  Nothing has been painted yet and it's all been simple swaps.  the belt is from the paris persuit barroness' trenchcoat, I cut off the tails of the coat since they were practically useless on a figure (impeded movement/poses).    The holster from the scarlet figure was glued to the side of the new fig's leg so that it doesn't impede movement and it stays on the leg when she sits or bends.

well... I realy want to repaint this one but I have no idea on a color scheme or what else to do to the fig.  She's supposed to be a smuggler/outlaw so I'd like her colors and paint to reflect that.  But I don't know how.... any suggestsions??????

Hey ya spuda fett ! I was thinking about your female togruta smuggler, Maybe some goggles( I can spell that now thanks to u LOL) or some glued on soft goods i hear old boxers make good cloths  ;). mybe somthing like a long coat.

try not, do or do not, there is no try.

hmmm I definately liked the goggles idea...  I might mess around with some kind of trenchcoat or other long robes of somekind...   I definately need to get her neck/face painted to match as well as paint the armor/outfit a different color.

Spuda you are amazing!!!!, I was thinking how to articulate a pair of 1/6 droids and you just gave the solution, on the soft plastic dilema you may want to use the same material that is used for making molds, it's soft in layers will be flexible enough for you to insert a wire and bend.
