excellent work Spud as always. I think I will try one super-arti scout so he can fit on the speeder bike
and I agree with Clint, the Bossk figure is going to be a new level, can't wait to see the finished figure.

great job

just something silly I was messing with today:

now for more bossk progress pics:

this is halfway through the feet transplantation process, you can see by this photo how I was doing it.

both feet transferred.

all geared up, now just imagine the lower torso and legs matching the arm's yellow color....

I started painting the legs and have run into a real problem... first of all while transplanting the left foot I accidentally glued the bottom half of the knee joint in place, so that is agrivating me a little, but more agravating is that where the legs connect at the hips the paint will not stick, the parts rub too much.... so I'm either going to have to take the figure apart and sand the hips down to keep it from rubbing or use different joe legs... which I'll probably do since I ruined the left knee joint.

Thats a damn shame as well, it was looking real good, can you not just sand a new pair of those legs.

That's too bad, Spud!  IT was shaping up very nicely.  Well, at least you know your mistake and can easily fix that now!

spud that Bossk was looking sweet, sorry to hear it got fudged up a bit. I have always painted and sealed each part seperately then sealed seperately then put back together and this helps the paint rub problem a lot.

The blue scout does not excite me as much as the Crimson one. I would paint him to match and get rid of the blue. Just my honest opinon.

Now go get that model built!

what I plan on doing is removing these legs and sanding them down while off the figure.  even though they've already been painted I should be able to adequately sand them and then repaint them.  I tried to use a basecoat of flat black on the legs before painting the yellow and that was a mistake, only making the paint layer thicker and harder to keep from rubbing.

the knee joint wasn't that big of a deal, it's frustrating, but it doesn't detract from the figure as a whole.   I might be able to find another storm shadow figure that has these same legs though so I'm going to look for a single carded version, the original was from the snake eyes vs storm shadow two pack wal-mart exclusive....

as for the scout trooper, I agree he will probably get repainted.

I finished my at-rt model as well.... I have to admit I'm a little disapointed.  Some of the parts were broken before I even got started, one "toe" of one foot pad was broken and one of the smaller handlebars had broken as well.  I was able to fix the footpad however.  As I was messing around with the model the peg holding on the drive "hips" to the main vehicle broke as well, I had to drill out the peg and drill a new hole in the hip piece and reatach it in a permenant position, which bummed me out because I thought the ability for the walker to rotate at the "waist" was realy realy cool.
I'll definately be painting this one up in the black/red color scheme though so keep an eye out for it.

wow that Bossk is coming together great, he's always been one of my favorite bounty hunters, great work!

coming together might not be the best term, because he's in pieces again:

I'm working on sanding the joints down to minimize paint wear and then repainting the legs and arms to match a little better.  He should be done soon.

and I thought you guys might find this interesting, my fodder boxes:

AND I got my at-rt finished:

now that I have a good movie accurate version of the at-rt I'm taking apart the TCW version to customize for my crimson scout troopers, it's going to have workign lgihts and everything.

ok, I realized that I should have posted my at-rt update in the vehicle section, so check over there to see the progress i've made with that!

AND I finished up bossk finally, with his hips sanded, and new knee joints he's painted and finished.  i don't like how the yellow looks in person, but i'm probably microanalyzing the figure as a whole, in the pictures it looks realy good IMHO... what do you guys think?

That is superb Devin! The yellow looks just right to me and I like how some grey shows through at the line details and the knee joints. It looks lightly weathered. Great job!
