My Death Star Diorama
« on: September 24, 2011, 08:54:20 AM »
After looking at everyone elses work, I thought I might give this a try!

I started by doing a simple corridor, with the help from NuibNuib's decals.

Welcome aboard, Panther!  Looks like a pretty slick dio there, those decals are spot on!

Thank you

I keep this in my cellar and my local toad thought it was tasty.  Needless to say he no longer leaves here!

I decided to another corridor, a little longer this time, I love the vinyl black flooring it really makes it look good!

The 3rd level I diced to be a little adventurous and do the prison block.  Building around and upon Detention Block rescue set.

The consoles I am proud of.

My latest scene, using the Escape the Death Star playset as a base.

And right now it presently looks like this!

That's a big set-up you have there and a lot of work involved.  The consoles do look good.  You need to make a Trash Compactor Room and let your toad (Toadanoga?) move in there.

My plan is to make to Trash compactor scene, console room, bridge and possibly the laser to sit on top.

This has taken me about 4 months to build on and off!

Good !

Maybe you should double layers of  foamcore between two levels. It's a good material, but it has his limits.

(That's why my DS Emperor's arrival dio doesn't update for now, I'm working on TIE's rack, with speficics needs, pictures to come on my topic).

I was thinking that, or possibly putting  a doorway in the middle to stop the floor above bowing.

Wow, what an awesome dio. Love the idea of added layers to keep it from bowing. Look for this on the fp soon.

How many ink cartridge did you use ? I don't want have to pay the bill ;)
I don't know the cost of foam core for you, but for me, it's very expensive, more or less 1€ for an A4 5mm sheet.

Wow love the front page, thank you very much!  Don't worry there is more to come of this and also working on my next project too.

This took about 6 sheets of foam core and god bless laser printers
