A couple weeks back I found a GI JOE Mobile PIT headquarters for $5 at my local flea market, it was only missing a couple of peices and I couldnt pass it up for that price.

I've been steadily working on transforming it into a freighter, and i'm happy with the results so far, it is massive! here's a couple of WIP pics and I included a zompie viper for scale.

Wow, I think this rocks on so many levels. It just has that Walker look to me and is a great mobile playset too. This is the type of thing Hasbro should make if they want to make playsets and vehicles in my opinion. Otherwise, make vehicles. On the front page. I can't wait to see this finished.

@tamer thanks for the front page! It does have that walker feel too, all the legs actually rotate up when it goes into "flight mode"

@Luke Sprywalker those wheels really bug me, I actually removed four that were just attached by screws but the other four appear to be molded on, not sure how I'm gonna work my way around that.

@xts_operative the back landing gear are actually from a GI Joe Mech walker "steel marauder", and the front one's a pieced together our of my fodder bin.

Yeah I noticed that too, that ship just sort of galloped on landing to absorb the momentum. Interesting concept.

If the wheels rotate, they can be removed. They are on a notched peg I would think and thathold them really well. You may want to remove it even if it breaks the peg as it would look odd anyway. You can always cut it off flat and add some random fodder in it's place. Either way this is a great project and I love the direction you are going.

Anyone else notice when that back area is deployed it looks like the perfect spot to launc a speederbike too? This type of vehicle makes so much sense in our Verse.

I agree, there is alot of potential in something this size. Originaly I think it is one of the lamest GI Joe vehicles ever for it's size but it has potential if repurposed and redesigned inside.
