Legacy Hoth Rebel Trooper BD42
« on: May 22, 2009, 01:17:14 PM »
I got this beauty in the mail from my buddy  Tamer, yesterday, and had to open it up and inspect.

First off, what a great super arty sculpt this one has. Nice colors and outstanding detail round out this figure from the latest wave of Legacy Collection. I know that this figure is to be released again with a different head if not different accessories, later in the year. My example is the skirted version not pictured on the back of the package which has a soft goods lower skirt to his jacket which matches the color of this plastic jacket better than one would expect.

Figure features: removable winter hat, han soloish pistol that sheathes nicely in the well molded side slung holster, a nicely sculpted removable backpack, and the hoth trench tripod mounted gun which, unfortunately is molded as one piece. I would have preferred some side to side or up and down articulation for this piece but the engineering of such articulation is indeed possible.

BD part is the right arm of protical droid U-3P0

You can't go wrong with this figure and in my opinion, this one is the star of this wave.

Awesome !!  ;D

By the looks of his bowed legs i'd say he has spent much time riding Tauntauns.   :D

I saw a few of them yesterday at W-M but was light on cash. Hope they are still there Sunday.  ;)

BTW:  Great Review...  8)

That is an interesting thought...because you are entirely correct - he looks like he could ride a tauntaun.  Bets Hasbro drops a new one on us?

Thanks, Rodger! In my excitement over opening him, I had forgotten to mention the one attribute of his that struck me as I first got him open. He is a bit bowlegged.

Nice review Clint. I wondered about the gun and now I know. I thought that dude would ride a taun taun. I too thought we might see hasbro offer us one in the future. Rodger's picture sure does prove they will fit nicely. Daggone Rodger, that looks like an Echo Base hangar scene to me. Hope you share some more pics of that one.

guys, anyone noticed that the cannon is the same cannon that is used in the turret stations of  the battlefront games?

http://www.starwars.sg/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3462

someone there helped me to take screenshots (im not really sure how to take screenshots in battlefront) and those high res pics showed it is really the same thing .-. is anyone interested in making one ? xD

Yep, that's on the list for me and Brendan to do when we make our "Battlefront MegaDio."

The Clean shaven version comes out in a repaint wave I think around OCT. I have managed to get 4 of these guys for they are the best Hoth Rebel soldier to date and the Anti-Personal Cannon is nice to have as well Hasbro has let it slip there are working on a new Taun Taun YAY, now if only we can get a large scale AT-AT that would be nice ;D
