Holy crap, spud, that is just crazy cool!
How long for the complete build again? And did I miss what you made the blasters from?
I gotta say, the belt and holsters are my favorite part.

That is a FANTASTIC Jango. You have really outdone yourself!
I have altered the action figure. Pray I don't alter it further.

I gotta say, the belt and holsters are my favorite part.

lets see, I took the first wip image of the project on the 20th at 12.30pm and the last final image on the 21st at 9:00pm.  The majority of work was done in segments during that time.  Mostly waiting for the sculpy to cure.  On a project like this though I like to do whatever sculpting I can right away, then work on little pieces like the guns and belt while it cures.  My sculpy is getting old though and is curing faster than it should be, so it was nearly fully cured in 9 hours (started sculpting at around 3 and was glueing on the styrene thigh armor at around 12pm

The blasters are 100% scratch built.  The handles are styrene and the barrels are a combo of copper wire and the ink tube of a pen.  Here is an early WIP of the blasters:

and thanks for all the kind comments everyone.  This has been one of my favorite builds in the 6" line so far.  One of the most challenging as well.  I'm not 100% finished though, so expect to see some minor changes next weekend when I get another chance to work on it.

Wow that looks great! Off to share. That gauntlet stuff is for the win. That rocket pack looks fantastic too.

The gauntlet blades are going to have to be re-visited...  the tiny pegs broke off when I was manipulating them after these photos.  And after looking at reference photos the ones I made are way to large.  But it was a good proof of concept.

The rocket pack in the middle is the one I had painted up previously for my ROTJ boba fett custom.  I just swapped it out onto jango to see how it'd look.

Hey Spuda,
Great looking Jango 6" figure! Have you thought about using very small rare earth magnets to hold the blades onto Jango's forearms? Or maybe just make a long notch in the sculpted forearms so that the blades can just slide in to place and stay until removed? Just a couple of tricks that occurred to me that you could try. Good luck!

I don't think a notch would hold.  Magnets would be a good thing to try, but I don't have any. lol.   I'm also concerned about the bulk of the magnets, and getting ones strong enough but small enough not to be noticed.

My problem, come to find out, was that when I spray painted the plastic I was using the spray paint actually weakened and warped the plastic... so the tiny pegs that I had cut for them broke off when pressed into the corresponding holes in the gauntlets.  I need to make the blades out of a stronger material.

Did you see the magnets that Mr. Black used on his latest six inch build? Man, they seemed small but really strong. Might be the ticket?
