Ok, now that I've gotten all my stuff updated; let me post my praise for this "Graphic Fiction."
Jules' photonovel is the best thing out there bar none!! It is the perfect blend of photographs, photoshop, action figures, graphic images, etc. One of the main things, visually, that I love about this photonovel is that even though Jules uses some graphic images for backgrounds, the pics always have depth to them. Too many times I've seen photonovels with graphic backgrounds and the entire picture just looks flat. Also, even though Jules uses some graphic images, either the way he tweaks them in photoshop or it's just some sort of Jedi magic he uses, but the images do not have that "video game" feel to them. There are some images that look real life, some look almost like a comic book; but needless to say - this photonovel is the most visually stunning photonovel there is!! Not only does Jules capture the motion and excitement of the epic space battles, but Jules also captures that "gritty" futuristic feeling of Blade Runner and Franklin (UK movie not released in US). I don't know where he finds some of the images he uses, but they are simply amazing.
I've mentioned this to Jules on yakface, but I actually took the time to go back and read all 19 chapters in a weekend just to get up to speed and make sure I was catching everything. Man, am I just blown away at this series. I love the fact that it's OT, and the fact that Jules got the idea from a PC video game is just cool!! This photonovel is the flip side of the coin of ANH/TESB/ROTJ. It's the "hero" story of Star Wars without having to focus on the Skywalker family. The Rebellion is much bigger than Luke, Leia, & Han and Jules is portraying THAT story perfectly!!
The custom figures and vehicles are also great. I've mentioned this to Jules several times, but when I look at other folks photonovels (especially Jules & Justin's) I love looking at background images and trying to figure out what they've used to make a particular custom. One of my favorite from this photonovel is the holoprojector made from a vintage "Turret and Probot" gun turret!
