Mix plaster of paris with the woodglue?  Interesting approach.  I have a couple of HUGE jugs of POP out in my shop and just picked up a couple more bottles of woodglue.

I had an 8oz tub of DAP lightweight spackling.  It did two walls and gives an awesome stucco look.  I'm working on getting pics of it up now.

(I also got impatient and painted the one wall that was already covered in mostly-dried woodglue.  Krylon Ruddy Brown Primer.  Looks sharp.)

(having issues getting pics uploaded to photobucket, so I'm just gonna direct-load them here for now)

I got a bit impatient and painted the wall with mostly-dried glue on it.   ;D  I like the color, I think.  Ruddy Brown Primer.

That needs a LOT of glue to seal off well.  That plaster of paris trick might be just the thing.  I also had an 8oz tub of this stuff lying about - DAP Fast 'n' Final Lightweight Spackling.

It goes on really easily.  Stir it in the tub, scoop some out, plop it on your work-surface, spread it around.

And in the end, you get a pretty cool stucco effect.  Air-drying overnight, we'll see how it comes out tomorrow!

Doc the walls are coming along excellent mate and I'm really looking forward to seeing more.

As per your question about the Plaster and woodglue mix, the reason I use this mix is for two reasons.

1: the glue helps the plaster adhere better to the surface and once dry it become stronger.
2: the glue actually helps with plaster not cracking over time, it actually stretches in the heat and shrinks in the cold to a certain degree.

ooch!!  nothing like a little front-page exposure to turn up the intensity on a project!!  I've got to put the building on hold until next weekend so I can concentrate on filling a parts order around the funeral.

I almost forgot to build a doorway and cut out windows!!!  Horrors!!  So I picked up a slab of foam today to use to build the doorway.  Might get a little work done tonight, dunno...

Slapped together a doorway out of a double layer of foam and carved the arched doorway out using a "magic wand" - one of these hot-wire foam cutters.  My freehanding needs a LOT of work!!  I should have pics up tomorrow.
