Are those the crates and what not you'll be doing for the casting stuff?

Awesome.

Is he hanging out in the booster?

Yup.
Thankee!
Yes, he is!!

I now understand WHY it felt like I need two boosters.  For dio-shots, I need one booster with the right side removed and one with the left side removed.  This would allow a MUCH better photography setup.

Ideally, I would be able to remove any given side to allow for photography, but on a quick glance, I don't think the shell is exactly designed for that approach.  So, I just start accumulating boosters and pull out ... the DREMEL!!!!  And the "tower" from each one I accumulate can be dressed up to represent different rooms around the ship.  Nifty!

The yards does help me through my Star Wars addiction, yes.
Simon, work has killed me for time and energy, this week so I can't ship yours to you till Monday.
Sorry buddy. Working is a pain too, it seems, but I'm glad to be back.

Following Luke Sprywalker's examples on RS, I've whipped up a couple of bulk-storage containers.

looking good Doc. Can't believe I haven't seen this thread till today. I like that shot of Fixer and Bartan too. You are gonna have to make some time to make a fully armed and operational Fixer!

Yeah, I know.  I have four commissions on the bench right now, but after that, I think I'll be revved up and ready to "Fixer-vate"!!  What's putting me off on him is the fact I have to do so many non-standard arms.  And I can't believe you haven't seen this before, either!  Slacker!!   fett

Heh Doc, containers really do turn me on!

I saw a really great post over at Yakface where this guy had used loads of everyday containers, yoghurt pots etc and made some really cool Star Wars stuff for his dio's.

I want to see more!!!

Jules

That was prolly Sprywalker posting in both places - or I said RS when it was actually Yakface.  I'm getting old and forget minor details.  I do know I picked his brain MERCILESSLY for the important details on what he used and how he put stuff together.  Believe me, I'm working on containers and set-dressing like you won't believe!  I'm trying to justify functioning strobelight LEDs in *some*thing, just because they are so KOOL!!  The LED strip/tape lighting is far more justifiable, but STROBES!!  wow...

You should have seen me roaming the automotive and hardware stores last night...   ^-^

"Doc's Field Surgery" has been in full swing today - opening up figs for those four plus a few others I've been plotting.  The carnage has been a terrible sight!  (I took pics...y'all will soon see!)  It affected one of girls so deeply that she ran to her room and ... and ... MADE HER OWN CUSTOM!!!  AAAAAAIIIGGGHHH!!!!!!!  (got a pic of it, too.)

I'd upload pics, but I got parts cool and dry now, so I gotta get them out and painted.

I just so hope I can get my daughter into customizing too. I think it is awesome that you are getting your family involved.

I also hope you will start a custom lighting thread in the reference section. I would love to see all the lighting effects you cook up.
