Yeah, it will be - and it's my own fault.  There was the simple request for some pics of a speeder from a particular angle... and I got carried away.

But it's gonna look DAMN cool when I finish!!!  Finding that texture option was a major boost.

Moving some of my recent posts out of my blog and into dioramas.  I got to looking and realized dang - they really *were* dio's!

First up, I bought a couple of chunks of concrete pavers in red - one slab and one scalloped.

And then there's the cargo pods Psyclone lent me to use as masters for molds:

During Naloomi's Workshop sale, I picked up some "one-casts" of two different sizes of industrial piping.

Here, I've tied together several elements from Nal - the piping up the side of the soda-tank, the black "med-bay pillar," two gray "power nodes," and some small barrels that you really can't see back there.

One of the molds I bought was for making  metal girders.  I tried putting a few together and then started playing about with some forced perspective shots.  There's an overhead view of the entire set posted in my "Backstage" thread in this same forum.

Here's the final two shots where I really started working on the forced perspective...

I think I like this one best...

Doc, I love those last two images, they tell a story on their own.

Also please stop showing us all of that lovely cargo stuff, it's obscene.... pawn for Star Wars geeks that's what it is...sheer exploitation :).

Whetting the appetites, my friend... whetting the appetites.

The glorious thing is, I have MOLDS for most of it!!  Yes!  I can make casts of almost everything in my pics!  Some of it I even have resale authorization for (but if I make them for myself and then trade my own stuff for, saaaaaay, figures...well...)  :D

Since I don't have the piping molds, I'm pointing folks to http://www.nalsworkshop.com for them.  In fact, if you go to this page, you'll find the 3/8" and 5/8" pipes.  What Nal does is fill the mold cavities one time and sells the casts as a unit.  That lets you decide if you want to buy a given mold.  Or, it lets you buy just enough pieces to detail out your project.  ;)  There are certain molds I won't bother buying, as I'll just buy the one-casts from Nal instead.

The wall is actually a pair of hydrostone castings from the "wall-builder" mold from Hirst Arts.  I bought the two castings from Nal's Workshop to see how the blocks worked in action-fig scale.  I'd say they do ok...
