Well part of the armor is now back in MonCal's possession for final completion of the snaps and straps and some of the helmet pieces getting repainted due to shipping damage.

I have a pretty good idea of a strong support stand now that won't get in the way and allow me to sleep nights knowing my MonCal Suit is supported. I also have to get the e-harness in place, but I hope within a month's time all of this will be done and I can put this project to bed.

even though it's blurry, it does look like those 5 clear pieces are spaced apart slightly. we are going to have to get that other shot up here again.

Ok a small update. I put together my support stand this weekend for my mannetamer and found out its gonna rock. I started by looking for poseable mannequins on ebay and then saw one that was relatively cheap, but would not stand. Part of the pictures for the mannequin auction were for a support stand. Well I borrowed said plans and while the height dimensions were off for the 1/2 metal pipe (I have to go back to Lowes to get eight more inches cut off the main length) it is gonna work great and give my mannequin the support I want so I don't loose sleep over this thing falling because of our cats or whatever else goes bump in the night. Pics will be posted when I can get down there this week to get those eight inches lopped off and get it reassembled.

Yep, I want to see pics of that.
Shawn, I am moving this set of dimensions here so I wont lose them again. Not sure when I will get to this as my order load is immense but I do have the material sans the washer to make a mock up/master for your comlink chip. Can you find that other pic from sergo's thread and put it up here of the more accurate version? Not the movie still pic but the shot of the enpty glove with the chip mounted on it.

1 3/8 inches by 1 7/8 inches with about a 1/4 inch thickness.

The circular area is 7/8 in diameter and is about 7/16 thick without the washer.  Speaking of the washer he used something more than just a regular washer which looks cool. Not sure what dynamic washers are out there.

I think that picture with the glove you want is further up the pages here.

Can't wait to see what you do with it.

Folks I got my armor back in. With a little time finegling tomorrow I hope to try and get this completed this weekend. All I need to do is get some velcro for my shoulder bells and E-Harness and I should be set. Hopefully pics by Sunday.

i'm surprised you wasn't up all night with that thing. Heck with the manniquen, I want to see you put it on. No, buddy, go ahead and set up your stand. Anything to see more pics of your collection downstairs.

Here is the shot I was talking about.

looking at it again, here, it doesn't look like there is a recessed area under the clear piece or the washer. The clear piece does appear to be 5 different individual pieces butted up against each other. 1/4 inch seems thick for the flat piece but not for the round piece under the washer.

I thought so too Clint. I leave it in your capable hands. Can't wait to see what you come up with. I am also wondering how that one would look with some metal under those clear plastic pieces that butt up against each other.
