Luke Sprywalker's Jabbas Palace
« on: June 25, 2012, 06:03:47 AM »
Several years ago I started builing the main throne room of Jabbas Palace. When we turned my Star Wars room into my oldest son's bedroom it had to be packed away. So yesterday I got it out, dusted it off and set it up. Here are the pics of my almost completed diorama.

The back wall, that holds the Tauntaun needs to be replaced and I need to add some structural braces to strengthen some of the walls up. Updates will be slow but I am working on this along with updating many of my old customs seen in the palace, sail barge and skiffs.

It is very cool! Awesome that it didn't get damaged after all that time stored away.

Very nice! It has all of those little details that make it movie accurate and space-age

Thanks guys! I put a ton of work/time into this baby! and it has a ways to go to be complete. I really want to light it and not sure how to achieve that. I really want it to look like a mineature move set when I am done. Everyone feel free to post reference pics in this thread of the details found in the palace.

Looks awesome spry. This is definately something on my wishlist but similarly to you space has put a hold on those plans for now. This months insider has a who's who of Jabba's court which has a well lit corner of the palace, only glanced at it so not sure which corner! I'm on holiday at the moment but I'll post what I can when I get back.

Wow! This is fantastic L.E.

It sure doesn't look like it needs anything to me, but I look forward to seeing what you are gonna do with this. Planning on taking it on a trip to Orlando perhaps?

Thanks Rogue82 and I know what you mean about running out of room. This thing is almost 5 feet long and 3 feet wide. I have done a bit of digging into Palace characters in the past. Not enough properly lit photos for some of them. I have been finding some that are better in the past week.

Shawn, thanks buddy and you are a wise man. ;)

This looks incredible, L.E.. I agree that lights would be what would take this from awesome to AWESOME! Nah, that isn't exactly right. It's AWESOME now, so with lights, it would be Awesomus Prime... Or, if awesome were a state like North Carolina, it would be the capitol city of Awesome.... Awesomeopolis! Damn..... It's actually ALREADY the capitol city of Awesome....Ok, let's say Awesome was the name of a planet, then this dio would be.....
Well, you get the idea. I'm sure you'll come up with a way to light this. There are several other very talented people here that could give you the info you need to make this the party place where all of the other cool dios come to get down and shake their groove thing.

I suspect that the first song played at the shindig would be 'I'm AWESOME and I know it!'

Barry, thanks so much man. Yea, if I just seek out some advice, Spooky Mufu, I could get this done. I gueass what I should say is, I have way too much going on before C6 to add lights. My dream would be that someone at C6 could help me light this den of dasterdly doings.

Thanks Jtrooper! and yes this was a major challenge but not as much as Palpatines office.
