Alright...I can take a hint
I've mentioned him in a couple of my posts and even posted a couple of pictures...I am currently building/sewing a life-sized Neimoidian soft sculpture, which, when he is finished, will be Lott Dod, my favourite Neimoidian.
He has a wire skeleton (a full rib-cage, spine, and pelvis included) so he's posable, a styrofoam head for support, and this wonderfully soft green faux suede skin. The eyes are a halved squash ball, which has been painted and coated in PVA glue for protection and sheen; I may actually paint a layer of varnish on top to give it an extra realistic shine. I sewed each part separately, then combined them together. He currently stands at 6'3" (Lott Dod's exact height), so he is literally bigger than a human, and weighs probably 25 lbs.
The arm joints, and possibly a few other connection points, may look a tad messy; however, I'm not terribly concerned as he's going to be clothed in robes the next time I can get to him. He currently lives with my mother in Colorado (God bless her understanding soul!), as it's impossible to bring him back to the UK for exceptionally obvious reasons. Come winter break I will be doing two things: studying for uni exams, and clothing a Neimoidian senator!
When he's finished (and my bank account has recovered), I have plans to make Nute Gunray and Rune Haako as well!
And may I say, he's an absolute joy to hug! 8D
I'm only 5'0"; my feet barely reach past his knees.
I love Neimoidian feet! 8D
More or less the full body; he took up most of my bed for this photoshoot.
The likeness isn't perfect, but it will do, I'm sure.
The eyes are actually embedded in the head. Each has a bit of material wrapped around it, which I will later paint purple, for the eyelid.
The eyes before they were embedded (with my test shot Lott Dod, and Ep I VD for reference)
Me for size reference (and hugs!)
The hat has a cardboard base, and retains its shape with copious amounts of duct tape.
Please enjoy! Comments? Suggestions? I'd love to hear them!
