Just a thought while I was looking back at this.  Something I've done in the past when working with cardboard is use some kind of spackle to fill in the corners and cracks.  Elmers makes a great wood putty that will sand with ease when dry... or you can use sheetrock spackle.

This is just an idea to get a more smoothed edge anywhere where you have corners or cracks to fill.

Man, if you filled in the corners and cracks there would be no way to tell this was made out of card board!

Glorbes I know you are the master scratch builder, but wondered what you thought about 3D Printing something like this?

I saw a six inch scale TIE Interceptor a month or so back that was created this way and I was just floored. This AT-ST is such a cool creation.

Wow that's amazing!  I didn't notice it was cardboard until I saw the close-up pic.

Cheap and easy, wonder how a little plastic carding on the outside would of looked.

Oh yeah, subtledesign's X-Wing and TIE Interceptor...those look really sharp.  I don't have the equipment or know-how, but its hard to argue with the results he's getting from the process.

There's no question that a little extra effort would go a long way to making the project look finished.  Spackling, putty, or even some strategically placed tape would certainly do the trick.  My MO these days is cheap, quick, and easy though...I haven't made a project since I posted this, purely because time is at a premium.  It's the exercise that is the source of pleasure.

Been a while since I made anything, but I have an off-topic project and figured I'd share!

Furiosa's War Rig from Mad Max: Fury Road

Rough Sketch:

Frame and basic shape of cab:

Details:

Chassis and wheels roughed out.  I can see in my mind's eye what this will look like, but I have so much work to do still.

Thanks for looking!

Tamer, you really do need to see it.  It's one of the best movies...ever.

Tire treads!

The "rivets" of this build...necessary but only noticed if they're absent.
